Yeah that writing has been on the wall for a while.
I’ll be surprised if Faedo clears waivers, some crap team could definitely use him. Had his ups and downs but he can throw multiple innings out of the bullpen and even fit into someone’s rotation if need be
Being a righty who can’t get right handers out will get you that
I’m pretty surprised about this to be honest. I’m not against it (though Manning should have been first). He’ll get claimed.
He definitely would not have been one of the pitchers that I designated for assignment from last seasons roster.
I hope for his sake the Marlins or Rays pick him up & he gets to go home to FL. Alex always seemed hella chill.
Man, idk what happened with him the last 2 months of the year, I heard it was paternity leave or injury but I thought he pitched pretty well all year 🤷♂️
I remember seeing someone say Faedo is going to be the next Scherzer because their arm slot release is similar
Lol
What? I thought Faedo was excellent last season
Faedo’s stats looked pretty okay on the surface, but he had a 4.92 FIP and has a career FIP of 4.80. Wasn’t looking super inspiring.
Someone going to grab him for sure. He’s a decent pitcher.
Alec Faedo you are a Pirate
Surprised to see Faedo be let go, but replacing him with a guy who’s 35 years old is a HORRIBLE move
To me, this is an example of survivor bias for Chris Fetter…”he’s a genius” if you ignore Wentz, Faedo, Maeda, Miller, even Mize and Manning, just counting guys with first-round talent or MLB track record
Manning and Faedo were both first round picks and both busts relative to draft position. Skubal drafted in the 9th round and might be the best pitcher in MLB. This is Al Avila’s tenure in a nutshell.
If he passes through great. If he doesn’t then some one else is banking on him making the 26 man. At 29 years old and bad secondary stats with no minor league options it was try and pass him now and see if you can squeak him threw while most other teams 40s are full or very close to full so they would have to designate some one off there 40 man for him. Where as at the end of spring the other teams will know what they need better and may be more willing to clear a spot for a roster bubble pitcher.

Ope! Well, there he goes. Best of luck, Alex!
