Starts around the 32 minute mark. I had to paraphrase but it's much funnier than that, worth a listen

  1. Won’t someone please think of the poor billionaires and how they are struggling during these trying times?

  2. lol, Tommy’s already been vocal that he really dislikes when people talk this way about him

    Keep it up!

  3. Jeff Passan and Ken Rosenthal, arguably the best reporters of the sport, absolutely calling out the Ricketts this off season is so deserved and I’m here for it.

  4. Wouldn’t the different business Ricketts owns contribute to different buckets? They are all independent businesses I would assume. The Cubs team revenue is the Cubs team revenue. I’m not so sure that the money generated off of the wrigleyville businesses would go to the Cubs and vice versa.

  5. Only took George McCasky 30 years to finally open the pocket book and pay for Ben Johnson. So let’s not all hold our breath for this Chicago billionaire.

  6. Only thing you can do is vote with your wallet. If people stop going to games and Wrigleyville Tom will spend money. But then he’ll stop again. I just want an owner that cares about its fans.

  7. Guys, you don’t understand: it can be really hard when you have thousands of millions of dollars in your account.

  8. My only hope is that the national attention the Cubs are getting for the wrong reasons makes them spend more and surprises us…similar to the Bears being a laughing stock, paying Ben Johnson and shocking me with that hire…seemingly doing the right thing for once.

  9. It needed to be said. This organization has huge market, rich owner, their own network and massive real estate holdings. They should have been in on Burns and Soto, not crying about losing slightly more in draft picks due to QO rules. It’s unconscionable to be this close to a contending team, have this much money, and still not try to spend to win.
