[MLBTR] Orioles acquire Luis Vazquez from Cubs in exchange for cash

  1. Why the fuck do we let Vasquez go and trade for Brujan?

Vasquez is an elite defender at multiple positions and was figuring things out at the plate. He’s younger and cheaper as well.

Brujan rates negatively as a base runner and fielder while being one of the worst hitters in the league.

Makes no sense to me at all.

  2. Y’all need to realize what being DFAed means. I can get being mad about who we chose to DFA, but this isn’t selling a player for the sake of saving money. If the Orioles didn’t pick him up, we wouldn’t have gotten anything regardless

  3. Likely they knew someone would take on Vasquez’s contract allowing them to free up some cash. I’m not going to fret over this too much. Nelson Velazquez ended up being a good move out, same with Morel.

  4. Anyone know what happens when the cash transactions happen? Does the money just go to the owner? Because it doesn’t change the Cub’s cap space and since they spent right at the cap space last year its not like bringing in more cash to Jed would allow him to spend more.

  5. Sweet! Couple of bucks for ol’ Tommy Boy to spend on building another restaurant or some shit

  6. Can we be frank here? They sold Vazquez to the O’s. Lol. The electric company doesn’t trade electric to me in exchange for cash considerations. They sell me electric. ⚡️👍🏽
