If Barzy is out for the year Lou can try to get Troy Terry from Anaheim who would help fix the zone entries in a big way and be RH RW to pair with Bo and Anders. He makes 7 mil AAV for another 5 yrs (until 2030). Don’t know if he’s available, but he’s 27yo.
Barzy’s LTIR would cover the cap hit this year and he would be a replacement for Brock/Palms next year.
Adding his zone entries with a healthy Barzal and more mobile D-men like we’ve been adding would make the team lethal in Roy’s system.
I think Dobson will go in a deal for him if he’s on the market in Anaheim.
Terry’s right behind Barzy usually in controlled zone entries. It’s elite company.
If we could get Ehlers from WPG he’s better than Barzy and Troy Terry at this skill. This is the skill we need right now with Barzy injured.
Ehlers is UFA after this season. Would WPG take Dobson for him now? Even with the cap increase, WPG does not make a lot of revenue and might not want to spend what it will take to retain him. Would they rather walk away with Dobson rather than nothing which would be similar thinking we just saw with the Rantanen deal with Carolina.
We can win without Dobson. It’s going to be tough to win without elite zone entries in our forward group to replace what Barzy does.
I would push for Ehlers if I were Lou. We’ll be in WPG later this week.

Watching Barzal block that shot I thought it was just a stinger and he’d wind up with a nasty bruise but not much more. Not good to see him out

What an injury plagued season. And they’ve done remarkably well overall. But losing Barzy getting him back and now him out again is gonna be tough. He’s one of the key spark plugs on the team (even if he should shoot more)
