[Purple Row] Could Charlie Blackmon be the Rockies future manager?

  1. One problem with this is that a manager is all but guaranteed to eventually be fired. That would be a sad end to Charlie’s tenure with the Rockies.

  2. Have we learned nothing from the Walt Weiss disaster? Just say no. I love Chuck but he has as much big league managerial experience as I do.

Dick Monfort needs to step out of his fucking comfort zone and bring in people from outside the organization.

  3. I’m going to go against the grain here and say I like the idea that Chuck Nazty can be the Rockies manager. He’s got first hand experience dealing with the Coors effect and seems to be well liked/respected. For Charlie’s sake, I hope he doesn’t. He has a young family and Monfort likes to be overly involved.

  4. Does Chuck have the chops? I don’t know. Maybe. Probably.

But for his sake, I wouldn’t wish this ownership group on him. Guaranteed frustration, and I don’t want that for Mr. Nazty.

  5. Wait wait. Hear me out.

There’s an entire PLANET out there with presumably more baseball knowledge than a former player who achieved minimal success with the Rockies.

Crazy thought, but what if we hired someone outside of the organization who may accidentally change the culture in spite of the Dick at the top?

    Maybe?

  6. Maybe, make him hitting coach or something for a while first though. No need to rush into it.
