It’s not THAT surprising when I think about it, but Kasper having more points than Berggren is awesome.
This has been such a great change. Watching these guys play has been awesome!
I want to spam this graphic to everyone who said the Yzerplan was failing because none of our picks outside the first round had panned out.
Its almost like guys who aren’t as polished go later in the draft and then take longer to develop into contributors as compared to our first round guys…
Add Mo, Ray, Veleno, Ras and half the starting skaters as of late (due to injuries) are 25y/o and younger.
If Elmer Soderblom stays on the team and continues to produce, improve and stand out he may become my favorite sports storyline of 2025.
I am really rooting for him; he is a fun player to watch with a lot of potential and usefulness imo.
The Yzerplan has always been to build via the draft. All of the mediocre signings have been place holders for his young demigods to progress. These 5 studs plus ASP, MBN, Danielson, Buch, Lombardi, Wallinder, Cossa, Augustine, Mazur, Kiiskinen, Buium, Plante, Finnie in the pipeline!! Holy Fuck we are so back baby
Just wait until Copp, Compher, Holl and Tarasenko are replaced by Danielson, ASP and gang. We’ll be cruisin
Oh look, Soderblom just casually on pace for 51 points in a full season
I know Ray and Mo were left off because they’ve been playing for a few years now but they’re still 22 and 23 respectively.
Remember 3 months ago when we thought all of our draft picks were fucking busts? And that we lost our touch at drafting? And that we thought maybe Yzerman didn’t know how to scout talent at all?
I’m starting to feel a lot different now and I’m thinking Todd has something to do with it.
If we extrapolate that over a 82 game season
Kasper ~53pts
Edvinsson ~32pts
Soderblom ~51pts
Johansson ~20pts
Berggren ~41pts
If we can get that kind of production out of the kids over and 82 game season we are gonna be in good position
I though Soda was older for some reason.
The Yzerman was just overshadowed by bad coaching. LGRW
Johansson has been an absolute animal since Todd came in since being paired with Edvinsson! They have great chemistry carrying over from GR. If ASP is on the team next year I wonder if they start him out on the third pair with a veteran and give him PP2 time to leave the Ed/AlJo pairing intact.
I love that the wings are restocking their pantry of swedish hockey players
Soderblom was all over the ice this road trip. Always making a play. he’s exciting.
Kasper and Johansson have really impressed me. Kasper’s playmaking and ice vision are superb. Johansson is really coming along with smart, shutdown defense against some really good competition. I think Elmer definitely has a future bottom six role on this team as well. And Edvinsson, well, he’s great as expected.
Future’s looking very bright. A solid foundation for Yzerman to build around.
I guess Raymond and Seider are old men now lol
Four Swedes + an honorary Swede. Red Wings building a core of Michiganders and Swedes.
I said this MONTHS AGO. The problem was never the Yzerman, but the coaching.
There are 6 elite players on wing roster, duly one-third of the team every game. Larkin Raymond Kane Cat Seider Edvinsson. Who will be the 7th?
4 Swedes and an Austrian? Are we prepping to invade and partition the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth?
