Quin is a fantastic player development coach…Trae, vit, OO, hunter, JJ all are vastly improved under quin
He’s a pretty good x and o guy too
But his rotations and in game management stuff can be a bit off sometimes
masterclass game by OO and 2nd half from trae just wasted smh
I’m genuinely just sad. We’ve lost so many close games in the last few weeks, first the Rockets one and now this
Soft ass 7’4 wembanyama can’t dunk on 6’8 OO so the refs had to bail him out meanwhile Barlow had a similar attempt on the frenchie and wasn’t a foul
If I had a nickel for every current Atlanta head coach that doesn’t know how to manage timeouts at the end of games…. I’d have two nickels.
In the game thread, someone asked how you defend Wembanyama. He was held under 20 points twice by Memphis in a three day stretch in January. He played 37 and 31 minutes in those games. Memphis’ defense is almost as bad as ours. Wembanyama is not a free basket; the coaches just have to scheme for him. I know strategizing is for “college folk” and NBA coaches want to just assemble a roster and “let them ball”, but that’s why there is no consistency in the NBA.
I know OO had a great game on offense but y’all need to realize that down the stretch, in crucial moments we need ball stoppage and rim protection and OO provides virtually none of that and he’s supposed to be the starter of the future. Anyone with eyes can see how he lacks the awareness to rotate or get in position, and the crazy thing is that this type of offense from him is inconsistent so the next game he’s gonna have just 10-15 while still committing the same mistakes on defense. A lot of y’all say Valanchunis or Nurkic are washed, but fuck it I rather have a big, tall body on the damn court that can slow down quality bigs and get the occasional bucket and we haven’t had that since Gallinari
Haha oh no that guy bought a new capela jersey
hate how inconsistent the high five call is
Zachary Risascher could generally have a shot at ROTY if Quin decided to fucking play him a little bit more
And if Quin decided to actually get him involved in the offense. Draw up something for him atleast bro, he’s been relegated to corner and cardio merchant it’s so frustrating to see
Bad challenge in that situation, but props to Okongwu for getting up there and contesting that. Call really could have gone either way. Great game from OO.
Sigh 😔 go hawks
Great game. CAAWW we’re back at em after all star break
Can’t lie not a great challenge by the coaching staff
So uhhh…how does BI help?
Team beat up with injuries and any good fan would still have their back. Always hating on every player when having a bad night. Always blaming coach when never actually looking at big picture. Why not challenge that last call. If Wemby was Trae on that play every fucking fan of every other team would be calling Trae a foul baiter. I mean Big O went straight up and as that lame ass ref said got him on finger. What a lame ass call. But why they call foul in first place, because Wemby flop on floor like dead fish. Quin knew if he made 1st free throw, he would miss 2nd free throw. Would not even be a second left even if had timeout. Nothing was changing this outcome. Wemby on national game with a win was all that mattered. PS……. fuck Reggie Miller.
Tired of ZR being frozen out of the plays. Soo stupid. He can do soo much more on the floor.
I’m so pissed I missed this game I was out. Just finished the highlights some of our guys went crazy. Was it a fun watch or an annoying one?
I knew we were going to lose when Matthews came into the game. I have no idea how he gets minutes over ZR, Wallace and Barlow. Vit needs very limited minutes as well but Vit is better than Matthews.
Just blow this goddamn worthless team up already
Idk how anybody can watch that game especially in the second half and come away with trash talking this team. Our core guys of Trae, Okongwu, Dyson, and Dre was great and even though he didn’t score much, I thought Zaccharie defense was great and I thought the bench was decent tonight too. We lost this 1 point game simply off the fact we just don’t have an extra guy to handle the rock when Trae sits. Trae had 9 turnovers (which is bad) but we had 20 turnovers as a team. Can’t have that. If it’s not a shot attempt then we can’t turn it over because our transition defense is bad.
(It honestly makes me more interested in Brandon Ingram lol)
Fox was one hell of a pickup wow
Is Dennis Schroder still available. Would love to have him back as a 6th man type of player and floor general for the bench
Get Ingram. Season is already at jeopardy of being over if we lose too many more games.
Development season ig, but still would be unfortunate. Injuries really screwed us
Gotta wonder WTF Hunter was doing on the Spurs final play where Wemby got fouled. Really awful overplay by Hunt resulted in a wide open look at the rim and ultimately game winning FT’s
Despite how poorly this season has turned, there is a lot I like about this Hawks team. Add shooting & possibly a C in the offseason & the Hawks will be a surprise 50+ win team next year.
Quin Snyder is a bone head man
The only negative players (+ -) were the bench players. Our starters were all pluses for the game
Fuck the spurs and that fraud Wembanyama
Risacher has been a pile of ass shooting the ball. Grow that oui oui little Frenchman
We can’t even land Ingram😭
I’m so glad that Quin constantly benches Zacch in the clutch, we can’t have a rook getting experience because it may mean we lose the game! Can you imagine if we let a rook close games, we might be 1-9 in our last ten games
5 missed free throws, poor shooting in general, and 20 turnovers- not exactly a winning recipe. At least the fans were loud and nice to see big O, Hunter and Barlow hold their own against Wemby… tough loss but we are just a few pieces away from a serious squad. Gimme any 7 footer in the draft and a solid backup pg, Wallace is playing good minutes but it’s def a place we could use an upgrade. Hoping some sort of trade to shake things up by the deadline…
Wemby is the Pat Mahomes of the NBA. Can’t even breathe on the golden child.
P.S. just saw Raptors got Brandon Ingram. Is that legit or is the internet B.S.?
Will it kill Quin to involve Zacch other than just corner pocket ? maybe having Hunter starting ruined his flow , but you gotta keep Zacch involved in the offense. In my opinion, other than Trae , Zacch has the loudest baskets. he impacts winning when he scores
