6. What the Defensive Line is missing in big games. Is that intensity and aggressive I wont be denied attitude. We just witnessed with the Eagles. In fact it seems to be a problem across the entire team.

7. I love this channel and love the conversations but the reality is that the Steelers under Tomlin will continue to be mediocre and run very vanilla schemes on all sides of the football. Until he’s gone nothing will change the mediocrity will remain in tact. I love the billboard that’s been put up calling out the years of mediocrity. 9. You can't have the D out there for 40 minutes + because the offense can't sustain a drive. Heavy rotation without a large dropoff in play should be the goal.

10. Let's look at this beyond our recency bias:

    Matt Williamson, who is a part of DKPS & one of the most respected members of Steelers/NFL media, said around week 10 that the Steelers had a top 3 defensive front.

    Week 10 vs the Ravens they surrender 124 total rushing yards, nearly 50 under the Ravens season average.

    The offensive woes begin, & the defense plays nearly 12 snaps more per game over the last 7 games as opposed to their first 11 (nearly 20 more than their 1st 6).

    39 & 6 both finished playing around 1100 regular season snaps, both in the top 10 league wide. Across the board, everyone on that defense played entirely too many snaps. Why? How did that happen?

    The offense averaged between 20:30-24 mins of time of possession in their last 5 games. It became a cycle of offensive 3 & outs, defense playing a ton (esp in 1st halves), & what was a top/touted front less than a month before all of a sudden has a talent problem? That's incredibly flawed, surface level thinking.

    The BEST upgrade this defense could ever receive would be an offense that can possess & control the ball. An offense that can get to 3rd & short consistently + convert. An offense that isn't led by a 3 & out merchant (cough, Russ, cough).

    They better have a real, starting caliber Z receiver & "14 crash out insurance" in FA before drafting a DT in the first round. The best, most talented defenses of all time couldn't hold up if they had to be on the field for 70+ snaps a game. Their central focus on DTs when the offense is so Incomplete shows the flaw in their defense dominant (spending) philosophy.

    Does the defense need to make $120 million more than offense to not get gashed? It's just absurd! Everything from the vision to schematics of this team is just narrow minded, stubborn, & imbalanced – at best.

11. Are there any cover guys available? JP jr is ok but, we need to be able to blitz. Our pass rush is nice though it doesn't matter if everyone is open all day.

13. Everyone keeps blaming Tomlin. Are they confused about how corporations work? The store manager doesn't have a say in what products are stocked… He's forced to sell inferior products at (Trader Joe's) prices. Absolutely no money spent on offense? Why aren't we playing (kick the can) like the rest of our division?

14. DK is looking at this incorrectly. We don't need another Stephon Tuitt. We need another Big Snack Hampton. We don't need a NT we can be an elite pass rusher. We have enough pass rush. We need someone who always demands a double team in run blocking scenarios. Deone Walker can be had in the second. If he can keep his pad level low, he's the dude. If we take a DT at one, Kenneth Grant would be that guy.

You guys are dancing around this subject: PFF rating the DL the way they do, the fact that Larry O is slightly disappointing, Benton needs some more growth, the edge guys and their play level… the bottom line is that our cupboard is not bare. I also presume you aren't questionnng their collective or individual effort.

    So why do they always seem to be reacting to what the offenses are doing? We got gashed by BAL, the other teams just dink and throw underneath all day, before our (great) rush can get there.

    These are a LACK OF PREPARATION. The elephant in the room is that we've been outscored 75-0 in the first quarter of the last 5 playoff games!!!! I can't shout that enough without going ALL CAPS. That SCREAMS we aren't ready to play. We get our doors blown off because our coaches are not preparing them.

22. Regarding the J1Q about Minkah. Mike T seems to be showing a pattern of bad player positioning/belief. Minkah, Dotson, Green, Mason Rudolph, Sutton, etc…just to name a few lately.

23. The answer is simple. It’s not the defense that’s missing. It’s the offense. If the defense is getting gassed because they spend a majority of their time out on the field, then how can you expect them to produce at the high level that they were if they font get rest

26. The Team Could draft the Next Reggie White and this current head coach would figure out how to miss use him! The standard is the standard.

27. Hate to say this Dan… but the Pittsburgh biased is real. We believe Cam will be in the Hall of Fame. He absolutely deserves to be… but Hines Ward doesn’t get in?! I mean we are fighting an uphill battle to get recognition for our guys! T.J. T.J.! There are people that (blasphemously) quote T.J.’s lack of Super Bowl wins and DPOY in HIS resume for the Hall of Fame!

28. A DL isn't going to get you very far if the offense can't stay on the field.

31. Idk what Tomlin is doing with this defense because, to me, he's just getting away with having holes that they don't wanna fill. After all, they're trying to be cute about how they play this defense, which is stupid. He came from a 4-3 Tampa 2 defense, and since he has been here, he wants to continue to annoy us with these foolish patch-worked 3-4 defensive nickel hybrid-like teams that don't know how to beat the zones they create when their not playing man even when their playing men they still don't look like they have enough to be dominant.
