I asked Jesper Bratt what he thinks of 10-minute 3-v-3 overtime: “It’s definitely hard to play, but time and space, I’ll never say no to that!” More from the #NJDevils Swedish forward in the post-game notebook:
I think the NHL should adapt the same points scoring. 3 points for a win, 2 for OT win, 1 for OT loss and 0 for regulation loss. 10 min 3 v 3 is wild tho lol
Either way 5mins of 3v3 is not nearly enough time even if Devils have had only 20% of their OT games go to shoots outs.
10min would be great, but even 7 minutes (like the ECHL) would be a nice improvement. Watching that extended OT last night was fantastic.
10 minute overtime, should just be permanent overtime, until a team scores, get rid of the shoot out and let players play, 3-3.
If they start getting tired roll out more lines, and not just your best players. Bratt is right here.
