Christian Yelich started hitting in January, right on schedule for a normal offseason. Here’s what he had to say about his outlook for 2025.

  1. It genuinely is bizarre there were reports about him being questionable for opening day, when he specifically had this operation when he did in order to be ready for this season. It’s also an incredibly routine surgery that healthcare has mastered. Mine was an outpatient procedure at 6am where I was home by 3pm. I was playing baseball a month later. I played football three months later. Even considering you’re never back to normal, this is probably the best he’s felt in a long time.

  2. I do remember it being said the whole point of him having the surgery was so he could be ready, *and*… it’s back surgery like I’m going to have a question until I see the opening day lineup. But I believe you, Yeli, excited to see dude bring it this season

  3. I’m so curious where healthy Yelich goes — his last couple of seasons (age 31 and 32 specifically), he has been notably improving at the plate, if he stays healthy I am curious if he can develop a sort of elite aging curve.

  4. Ready for a great season by Yeli. I’d love to see both him and Chourio join the 30-30 club this year.
