Jeff Cavanaugh has a surprise for his latest Dallas Cowboys mock draft. He’s not going with Ashton Jeanty in the first round, instead opting for Michigan cornerback Will Johnson.   3. Stingley is a great comp for Johnson in terms of journey from freshman to the draft. Johnson has elite 2023 tape and said he wasn't playing fully healthy or confident then. He has such a high ceiling, but we already have corners that get injured a lot and you mentioned the tackling so I'm torn on him. Barron is a great alternative, a little smaller more good tackler and more versatile because he can play in the slot or wide.

    Hampton hopefully makes it to 44 if we don't take Jeanty, going to be a loooong wait. I would double up with a speedier back like Tuten or your guy Blue.

    Alexander is awesome, he does everything well. He's a little older of a prospect so that's the only tough thing if he doesn't hit the ground running and needs time. I really like Omar Norman-Lott in the third as an alternative. He's lightning quick off the snap and super efficient as a pass rusher. He'll have to prove himself a decent run defender and his conditioning because of the heavy rotation Tennessee uses.

    Guy you should check out: Joshua Gray, OL, Oregon State. Plays all over the line, solid technique, good mover and decent strength. Older prospect and questionable length so he could be a late day 2/early day 3 guy.

    That's what that would likely mean and he's going to Washington for sure 😅

  11. Not your best work Jeff…you know they won't take a CB at #1 esp one with Tackling and Speed questions…Come on Jeff, not what you need or want in your R1 pick! There are other CBs that are better and in the later rounds. Shocked you didn't take a WR in R1. Hampton won't be there at 44…neither will Johnson or Henderson. Those are your powerhouse RBs, including Jeanty, that are true RB1s. All others are RB2s that will need support from another RB. We don't have time for a developmental DT. We need to get them in FA and re-sign OSA! NO WR in 3 rounds, so not until R5, R6, R7??? We have plenty of those in house!!

  14. I’m so sick of mock people saying, cowboys don’t need Jeanty cause there’s other back in the draft. None of these backs are close to Jeanty. Jeanty is a bigger prospect than Zeke when he came out. It’s a no brainer grab Jeanty if he’s there

  16. What positions are considered premium positions? QB, OL/LT, pass rusher, receiver, and corner back, but with thew new coaching staff should we add running back and linebacker?
