As we go into the final year of paying Eric Hosmer $12.5Mil to sit home and make podcasts… here’s an article that didn’t age well.

  1. We low key needed Hos to start the movement… love the guy not the launch angle… lol

  2. I was excited for Hosmer back then and it signaled the start of an exciting period in the team. It did not work out, but him coming was exciting. Contract length certainly needs to be looked at in future.

  3. We should’ve listened to fangraphs.

I liked the signing initially, but his stubbornness to not try to adjust to the league and just get washed out was sad. I wonder if there were signs that the guy would essentially just give up on trying to improve.

Rendón has done it at a much more expensive rate, but reminded me so much about Hosmer. He got that World Series, got paid, and peace’d out.

  4. Knew it was an overpay then. Thats why it was just us and the royals. They were paying him as a thank you. We were paying a decking player for what he did elsewhere. Classic

  5. Better he stay home and make podcasts than covering one or exquisitely hitting into a double play many many times.

  6. If only this remained true…

Ron Fowler indicated recently that the team will not go past seven years in their offer. He also stated that the team has made a strong push and the rest is up to Scott Boras and Hosmer himself.
