Justin Turner has signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Chicago Cubs, providing the team with a versatile veteran presence expected to bolster their bench or serve in a utility role. Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks secured their future at shortstop by agreeing to a four-year, $45 million extension with Geraldo Perdomo, which includes a club option for 2030, potentially increasing the deal to $57 million or even $72 million with incentives. This move locks in Perdomo, who has shown both defensive prowess and offensive potential, through at least 2029. On another front, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. appears set to test the free agency market after the 2025 season as no extension was reached with the Toronto Blue Jays before his self-imposed deadline. Guerrero Jr. has expressed that he would consider staying with the Blue Jays if presented with a “realistic” offer, indicating his future could hinge on the negotiations in the upcoming year.

  1. Is it just me or are there more teams that are already being talked about as "out of competition" or rebuilding as opposed to 'being in', and we are not even in March yet?

  2. Posted this first here months ago:

    Halos need Guerrero the Younger.

Angels have a giant, Ohtani-sized hole in their lineup. Vladimir Jr., at his best, would be an almost perfect facsimile (discounting stolen bases).

Big Daddy Vladdy – the father – was a Huge fan favorite in Anaheim, won the MVP in his first season there, had some big years at the plate for L.A., went into the Hall as an Angel (no doubt due to some financial inducements, but nonetheless). Junior would pick up where his Dad left off – to the reverent delight of a long-suffering fan base.

Arte Moreno – after declining Ohtani's offer to re-sign under the Exact Same 10-year, almost-totally deferred deal the Dodgers already had agreed to – must atone for his historic Sin of Omission.

Vladdy Jr. wants out of Canada. Everyone loves a beach house.

Look for this trade. Pere et fils.

    You saw it here first.

  3. It sounds like to me the Blue Jays like to stand it a steroid hitter Because Took performing Enhancing drugs I know that for a fact Because he did it He took a dirty needle when he was in Atlanta when he was the visiting Team.? Fuzzy

  4. as stupid as it sounds I think the vlad era in toronto needs to be over. would much rather him walk to a contender than waste his career there if it never works out

  5. Arenado and Gray want out and i don't blame them it is sad how the cardinals used to be the scariest team in baseball and now they are just a mid team with a bad gm and kind of cheap owner not spending any money this offseason

  6. Cardinals have lost touch with the times. All their minor league developing is lagging in the industry. All of their top prospects are nothing but duds. They hand out the most expensive contracts to players that are past their prime and have no intention of building a team that is a World Series contender. They run themselves like a small market team even though they have consistently had some of the highest attendance. I can't wait for the attendance to continue to fall and then they blame their lack of spending on that, even though they didn't really spend even when it was great.
