  1. Oh great, you are the harbinger of doom now??!!! Why can't you do some positive clickbait, like: "20 high skilled Free Agents that want to come to Montreal NOW!!" Or, "12 Habs players that have secret superhuman powers, and #12 will SHOCK YOU!"

  2. Shaun dude… That title…
I think it's normal that when a coach is asked will a player be allowed to join his new team once his current team is bounced, the answer he'll give you is that his team is going to win the championship, and only then will he be allowed to leave.
Many coaches would have a similar answer, especially proud ones like Rotenberg.
Demidov has always been very clear about his intentions. It has in fact cost him a lot in terms of ice time, power play time. Obviously, no country likes seeing a young prodigy brought up through their system only to bolt as soon as he's drafted and his contract's up.

  3. Demidov still has not played in the NHL. Many seem to join the bandwagon that he will be as good in Montreal as he is in Russia. The verdict is still out. Anything can happen. Injuries, etc.

  4. Welcome to Russia, throw away all your expected/accepted norms because in terms of contracts and agreements what you consider right or wrong doesn't apply, Lived and worked there and the contrary is the norm!

  5. Doesn't some of the starting date have to do with contract control et al? So, if they start him for a brief part of a season, the player becomes an UFA sooner?

  6. Great show Shaun, I really like Marco As a guest. I used to hear him on 690 often and loved his insights. I don't hear him on 690 much these days, does he still join 690 from time to time? Cheers.

  7. Reinbacher or Michkov is STILL a debate? I dont understand why anyone would think reinbacher is going to be anywhere near the player Michkov is going to be, or even Ryan Leonard, Habs missed out big time, passing up 2 players. I dont even think reinbacher will have a full career in the NHL, i think the Habs will push him as far as they can, because they know they made the wrong choice, so they will do everything in their power to make it work, but that's not enough if the talent isn't there. This is where Habs fans lose their minds, the talent isn't there??? Are u insane? Do u even watch hockey? lol Nope, im not insane, and yes, I watch more hockey them probably most people, including KHL, AHL, OHL, QMJHL, NHL, and lower levels too, i played hockey for 14 years provincially, and coached for almost 20 years. I know a lot of u will disagree, but time will tell. When we see what Michkov has done in 5 years, and what reinbacher has done, and what Leonard does too, he killed it in the World jrs. Then maybe Habs fans will start to see that even Hughes and Gorton can make mistakes! lol. I like some of their moves, but we still got a lot of loose weight to shed, Anderson, Dach, Dvorak, Newhook, Armia, Savard, Evans, that's two lines of forwards. I dont think we should let Evans go, those type of players are hard to replace, remember when we let Danault go?
