I’m selfishly hoping he doesn’t get it so that we can offer Ty Jerome some money.
Cavs have 7 core guys locked through 2026-27 and are going to be over the second apron the next two years anyway. I hope Evan gets some hardware.
DPOY being one of the qualifications seems so strange to me when you look back on some of the caliber of players who have won it.
OP – and I apologize if I’m misreading the incentives since it was likely he was going to at least make all-nba anyways.
The extension would have kicked up to 30% of the cap if he made 1st or 2nd team all-nba this year or if he wins DPOY this year. If he made 3rd team, it would kick up but to 27.5% of the cap.
