LIVE π΄ : Optimism Around the Cubs Pitching Staff? w/Tyler Zombro
The Cubs have a lot of names in the pitching staff and bullpen. But how much impact is there?
Tyler Zombro, Cubs Special Pitching Assistant, joins us live to discuss

I'm happy the Cubs got Zombro. Anyone that can help improve your pitchers is a welcome addition, but the problem I have is that the Cubs are using Zombro as their #1 avenue for creating the team's pitching success. They want to acquire cheaper, unheralded pitchers, and hope Tyler and Hottovy can coach them all up to "outperform expectations." What a team should be doing is acquiring mostly pitchers that are already good as avenue #1, while also utilizing Zombro as avenue #2 for a few depth players you sign. The Cubs are making their whole pitching world revolve around what Zombro is hopefully going to do. He may be the magic man, pitching guru they're hoping for, but no one can work miracles.
Why does he sound EXACTLY like John Mozeliak? Same inflection, itβs crazy.
Great show fellas
Kyle, you did it again! What a great interview. You have proven to be the BEST of all the Cubs podcasts. Canβt wait for more.
Who did Zombro play for???
Very nice intervi'w. I think Zombro is going to be huge for the Cubs. One question I'd love to have him asked is to what extent will he work with minor league Cubs. Obviously they will work with players who are in spring training, but what about after guys are sent down to minors?
