  9. The fact that Embiid went to Josh Harris about this tells me Morey is on the hot seat.

    Morey is pressuring Embiid to play through it since Morey just extended him. Embiid is a tough guy and will play through it but ultimately he had enough, he’s the only one who knows the extent he can push himself to. Not the medical staff, not his agent, not coach, not the GM. But if they won’t stop pestering him, he has no choice but to go directly to the top and speak to Josh Harris.

    There was a thing earlier this year when Mo Bamba was talking about how shit the Sixers medical staff is. Not saying that will magically heal Joel, but these fuckers are terrible.

  16. That’s a bad vibe, but I like that Joel is thinking big picture and of course he has an inside channel with Harris, since he’s the face of the franchise and has such a gargantuan contract. I hope he finds some resolution and is able to play meaningful and impactful minutes starting from the beginning of next season (which seems unlikely).

    For some reason, I feel like Joel will be going to Germany, France, Spain, or Switzerland for some avant-garde type of procedure!

  19. Let him rest up so we can trade him. I love Embiid as much as anyone. But our relationship has run its course. The process is expired and we need a new one. Give him to the Thunder for Hartenstein and 1/4th of their draft pick treasure chest

    If there were other fucking options or opinions , Embiid would not need to go over the medical staff’s heads.

    The current course is obviously not working so if there was all alternative they would just do it’s

    And he has the power to choose his own course of treatment either way, both as a human being and by the way as the fucking superstar in the fucking organization.

    You don’t go directly to the owner after being all mopey saying in interviews you need surgery (when medical staff and specialist are saying that’s not what you need). When your issue is swelling and just basically degenerative, surgery isn’t going to do much, or if there is anything at all that can be done

    Morey got you that contract extension, don’t break chain of command

    Did they see him dragging when he played on it? How do they expect better condition when he can’t move. How do you expect him to continue a season when clearly he can’t move.

  35. It seems like Morey surrounds himself with yes people. I don’t know the guy but what kind of medical staff provides advice to keep playing. He’s always come off as a narcissist too. It’s all a shit show.

    While Embiid is an incredible player, he doesn’t elevate those around him. 3 years ago I thought we should have traded embiid after Butler Simmons fiasco with Tobias’s contact. Get picks and rebuild. Then maxey exploded and things seemed promising. Now I’m back to should have fucking traded him.

    It seems like even if embiid can play again, we’re still underwater for several years and Won’t have a legitimate championship shot until both embiid and pg are off books.

    I also never saw how PG was going to make this team better. He just seemed like the best free agent available.

    Morey is a dumbass who hires players on clout rather than team fit. Seems like he doesn’t have a good handle on this team either.
