  1. Like Buck said, should've cleaned house of everyone (Brinker included) because this is becoming a situation that could set the franchise back for years.

  2. I think the second half of this video was one of the most succinct points made this offseason.

Coming from KC – surely borgonzi realizes a cornerstone at QB is critical, and Mike does have a leash that gets shorter over time. Most of my brain cells still work, and if I’m a GM, assuming I like Callahan (signs point to yes) – I am taking a QB at 1 this year, drafting OL/DL in the second, and starting my build now around getting to take my favorite QB in the draft

Sam you make a good point – Borgonzi’s clock is a year delayed from Callahans. But if we punt QB, then next year, Borgonzi’s seat starts to get warm again, and there’s no chance we’re picking in a spot that gets us the top QB next year (we needed a LOT of luck this year, and there are a lot of bad teams). Then we’re desperate, WE may have to give up capital to move up and/or take a guy that isn’t our favorite in the class

The rational solution is to take Ward at 1, unless you are able to obtain a pick swap AND two additional firsts to trade back. I know that leaves little room for drama, but I don’t think there’s a rational argument that that’s not the right answer
