Ballard slapped on a wig and said I’ll compete with AR myself

  1. As a Ducks and Colts fan, I have about 75% confidence that Dillon Gabriel could win the starting job over AR.

My take here is useless, but intriguing to think about.

  2. I spent a weekend in Eugene a few months ago. The trip wasn’t football related but the host of the trip is good friends with Dan Lanning so we got to meet the team and organization and I Ieft with a huge respect for Oregon and probably an inflated belief in Gabriel. He’s extremely well composed for his age. I would love to see this happen. He’s worth a flyer – and arguably more deserving of that chance than AR was…and possibly still is.

  3. Gabriel wouldn’t be a terrible strategy here. He’s really experienced and found success in a number of systems, he’s probably also going to be available later in the draft so we can use our first few picks on areas of need that are more talent-rich in this draft class.

  4. I don’t know much about Gabriel, but I watched him throw for a couple of drills at the combine and it didn’t look good (from the part I watched). I know they’re throwing to different wide receivers, but other QBs seemed to adjust. Gabriel did not. It was bad pass after bad pass. I don’t want to judge him off that, and I admittedly haven’t watched his film. I’m just saying he looked the least accurate for the couple of drills I saw.

  5. Unfounded belief in a random late round prospect. Is this what being a Browns fan is like?

  6. I won $2K on Memphis vs UCF in 2020 Gabriel threw 5 Touchdowns passes in a lost, that was 5 years ago dude still not in the league
