1. Hey guys, we got a two game streak going!

2. I don’t think I’ve been this mad at a regular season loss in awhile. How the hell do you ice it in that situation?

3. Game doesn’t change the standing but that’s an easy point after tying it up. Gonna need a win against Winnipeg.

4. Why does it feel like every game the Devils get absolutely SHAFTED by the refs? Granted they do not do themselves any favors but that icing at the end was a horrific call… and the Star clipping Markstrom’s glove just before the puck zips by him glove side??????? This league is something else

5. It’s like that trope about restaurants. Fast, cheap or good. Pick two. Except for the Devils it’s now offense, defense or goal-tending. Pick two.

12. The team is just not hockey smart. It was bad under Lindy and it’s just as bad under Keefe. Fucking bone headed plays every god damn fucking night. They all end up in the back of our net.

13. How in the fuck did those two things happen back to back? An icing call where a Stars defenseman literally misses playing the puck and then Granlund hits Markstrom’s glove while standing in the crease on the winner.

    They rallied to tie the game and got fucked by that icing call that even made that possible

15. Really hate how often the refs fuck us, but without Jack we’re not doing shit these playoffs anyway. Time to move Kovacevic and other spare parts for whatever we can get, it’s a sellers market.

17. Going from potentially stealing an enormous 1-2 points and giving this group much needed positive vibes to just an absolutely gut wrenching loss in a matter of seconds. That one really hurts

18. Play amazing in the third to tie it up then lose it with under 10 seconds to go it in the third on the first shot they got on net in about 8 minutes. To not even get a point out of that game is just criminal. 

19. I swear if the Rangers claw their way back to a playoff berth and we fall out I might actually lose it

20. I was all set for overtime and I feel sick to my stomach. Watching this team has been so painful.

21. For all you whiners out there, this team just took it to 4s and a bs icing call against one of the favorites in the West. On the road. Without their #1 center. Losing their #1 offensive defenseman in the game.

    They didn’t roll over. They battled for 60 min and kept themselves in it.

    This team just needs to hang onto a playoff spot, get healthy, and get hot. Its not out of the question. They’ve shown what they are capable of. Let’s see what happens at the deadline.

22. I’m convinced that this franchise will be relocated out of NJ before it contends again.

25. Scoring came only from the top lone again, it’s almost as if a glaring issue has been ignored for a long time by our amazing GM

26. I have no words. I’m just heartbroken. For the injured guys, for the fans, for the players like Nico putting in their all. Speechless.

27. Gotta be able to finish and can’t wait until the bottom of the 3rd to make a comeback. Have to have that energy and fight from the first puck drop. Need to do something to change the teams overall mind set.

28. That was a gut punch. Even more than the one in San Jose. But there were 5 seconds left and they should have been in closer mode. Kovechkin could have eaten it on the boards instead of icing that puck. Haula could have tied up his man on the faceoff. 

    Coffee is for closers.

29. Since the Christmas break the Devils have played 24 games and only secured 21 points.

    They have 19 games left. At this pace we get 16 points and finish at 88 points.

    We aren’t making the playoffs with Jack a Hamilton hurt and playing at a 16 point pace with them in the line up. We just aren’t.

30. That’s it, sell at the deadline and move on from half of this roster, fire Sheldon Keefe. This team will never ever win anything with this core. We are absolutely fucked. 

31. This “but we played a good team” stuff needs to stop. It’s a loser mentality. We were supposed to be one of those good teams this season and are in the middle of a monumental collapse. The team is playing at like .400 since Xmas and ppl are being called “doomers” for pointing out the garbage play over the last 2+ months.

33. Pure Heartbreak, Complete and Utter Heartbreak:

    * you can call it cope, you can downvote me all you want, but that game showed me that Devils can survive without Jack and seemingly without Dougie.
    * that icing call at the end was bullshit.
    * and yes, I’m not happy with how that set of five played after the icing call leading up that goal against.
    * but you can’t look at that game and tell me that this team has no hope, that this team has no heart. that this team is a goner wtihout Jack.
    * yes, we got have to stop the penalties and we have to stop the breakaways.
    * and yes, we need depth scoring like no other.
    * but that game reminded me so much of the 22/23 comeback kids.
    * it just sucks we couldn’t get even a point out of it.
    * this was going to be tough game to win regardless of if we had Jack, but the way we played for the most part was promising to me.
    * we didn’t ace this test, but we didn’t fail it either. I think we have some things to hold onto.
    * plus the out of town scoreboard was a little helpful as well. we’re four behind Carolina and Columbus remains four behind us.
    * we have the trade deadline next before we face the Jets, the last of this “murderers row” as Bill called it.
    * the rest of March isn’t a cakewalk, but we can win the games we need to win, maybe win the games we shouldn’t be winning, and lose the games we were gonna lose anyhow.
    * I hope its not bad news about Dougie.
    * thankfully not only do we have Casey but we also have Hatakka.

    I’m not giving up on this team until this team is actually eliminated from playoff contention, which we’re not and a lot of other things need to happen before we are.

    Luke Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, and Timo Meier aren’t giving up. I won’t either.

34. Just for once can we get the first goal? We seem to come out flat every game and then come on strong

Anyone here blaming the team for this loss can gtfo and not come back….they just erased a 2 goal 3rd period deficit against a top western team, without Jack in the lineup, and were screwed out of at least 1 point through a bullshit icing call that forced a tired line to remain on the ice while Dallas sent out a fresh one with a center who was 5/6 on face-off……..if you’re gonna doom an effort like that piss off, this team deserves better fans than you

36. Erik Hauala doesn’t have a single point in his last 29 games. The last time he recorded a point was Thanksgiving week.

37. I love this team, but I fucking hate this team right now.

38. I personally don’t think we even make the playoffs at this point but if you do, fine. Is there anyone left who thinks we have even a remote shot at the cup this year? 

39. Well assuming jack goes on IR and dougie is banged up and goes on IR, we will have a ridiculous amount of cap space for the deadline. Fitz has the ability to make some giant moves to we’ll see what happens.

40. What a brutal way to lose the game. Gotta hold strong with 14 seconds left.

    The opinion of it being icing or not doesn’t matter. The refs, the accouncers, the accouncer rules expert and many others said it wasn’t icing. Is the rule dumb? Yes. Harley tried to play it and missed but the icing stands. The guys gotta hold strong for 14 seconds to make it to the break to try to win it. Pretty sure Keefe could have also called a time out when the icing happened to give his guys a break and not after they scored to give them a break again.

    I legit almost punched my monitor when Harley scored, but we legit cannot let Dallas score there. That’s not playoff hockey.

41. What does Haula have like 2 points in his last 40 games? Now he’s not winning critical faceoffs. Inflatable dartboard status.
