Love your show
No to Darnold
Colts need to trade Paye or Samson to bengals for Hendrickson
Beard should be the coach and deserves to be forgiven. As we all do
Kent! A Kent Sterling T shirt is cooler than the Colts swag! I would buy one of those shirts!
Jefferson and Addison will make any qb look good
I think we will get Hendrickson we have his coach
Colts need a dependable backup QB that can provide "competition", idk how much people agree with me but Andy Dalton's representation for Carolina was perfect for Bryce Young; find that.
Great program that I love to listen to in Houston, Texas.
See you next fall.
Bring back fries for 10-12 mil or let him walk. Kelly thanks for your service and best of luck. Smith, restructure the deal. Obviously ts and ps to whatever he has going on but if he isn’t playing he can’t get his 20+ he’s due. Darnold is a mistake, bring in a vet backup for 5-10 and draft Howard, shough or McCord to compete in the 3-4 rd.
Kent
What is new word Kent
Really enjoy listening to you. I like listening to people that know what they're talking about and back it up with facts.
No to Darnold, would rather have Rogers over him. Even Rogers bottom of my list.
Let's get Field's or someone thru the draft, I'm not for most of the other quarterbacks.
Oh Woody!
If they were worried about cap space they shouldn't have payed a mid-grade #2 receiver like a 1
Pilots say there's nothing more useless than altitude above you and runway behind you. Colts fans add "And unused cap space".
I think Daniel Jones would fit Colts scheme. He is mobile and has experience, even though it didn’t go well in NY.
I really hope the Colts sign Fields. He’s seems like the most logical choice so chances are it won’t happen.
Once you're in a "win and in, lose and out" situation, they're all play-in games.
Darnold holds on to ball to long doesn't see the field that well….1-10…he's a 6
I agree Kent, get someone with similar characteristics so they can “compete” the same way. Making each other bettet
Sam darnold is what he is. He's had on bad teams pretty good with amazing Wrs. So with the colts you would get a mediocre or less than QB. I do disagree with Kent on the style of what quarterback we need. I mean if we were just getting a backup for Richardson it would obviously make sense to get someone that could run the same offense. But with Richardson being injured all the time, he isn't the guaranteed start anymore or at least I hope to God he isn't. So you need to go out and get the best quarterback available whatever his playing style is. Because Richardson isn't going to last and that's a fact and he isn't going to be around if he gets hurt again much longer anyway you know
Ohhhh Woody!!!
I think we need we a need Sam that will help our team
Ohhh woody 😂
Need a QB
What are the chances we go and get Darnold and have a legitimate QB competition and whoever doesn't win the job gets traded for future pics. Makes the cost of bringing Darnold in a little less
why do you keep saying indiana has been mediocre for 9 years, it's been 3 decades for christ sakes and everyone here knows it
I just want us to win our division this year, after that it's just extra icing. But the division is my main hopium
Greetings Kent, enjoyed the show here, and your giveaway wheel and buckets! Nice of you to do that stuff, and I can see you have fun with it too.
You spoke of the Colts getting another quarterback here in your show, and it made me think immediately back to Chris Ballard's post season comments as he reflected on the last season.
He spoke of not repeating the mistakes of the last several years, he spoke in a contrition to fans and supporters we'd not seen before. He seemed remarkably sincere.
He seemed like in the experience of the last season alone that he learned something regarding his disdain for free agency and in general going after talent.
He felt some pressure from the fan base I believe for the first time, and also from the media and some peers. Whether or not he actually felt any actual pressure from Mr Irsay I truly fo not know, and I believe nobody knows.
He spoke of real competition in the roster this coming season. As the off season moved along there were statements from the Colts by Ballard and Steichen regarding bringing in competition for the QB job for Anthony Richardson.
Well here we are. We're all back at the table walking the aisles in the Used Quarterback Department. Again.
Minshew gone, Flacco done, and a healthy trail behind them in the past.
In absorbing all of what the Colts have said regarding competition for the QB position, I just am not a believer that any kind of real, and fair competition will take place.
Money is too big of a factor for this to happen. Ego's are too big for this to seriously happen. Old habits are too big for this to happen.
Ballard's will and want to be right regarding Richardson will not permit a real competition for the job of starting QB in my opinion.
This means they'll be pursuing a quarterback that Richardson's youth, and physicality and long ball missiles can beat or be justified against in winning the job. No real competition, no real intent for it.
This is my opinion. This is what I believe will happen. So considering this, it lowers the type of quarterback they'll pursue as they are going to protect Richardson.
I believe they truly want a Colts QB mentor and QB room babysitter, mentoring big brother for Richardson and not a QB that will shatter his mental shell.
So Darnold will probably not be seriously considered because of money, and he is likely to win a real competition if in fact one is actually held, and they don't want this
Derek Carr? No they won't go after him for the same reasons whether he's available or not or would even want to come to the Colts. Nope, not getting him.
Justin Fields? Everything you said made sense about him. Similar offensive quarterbacking styles, and issues though I personally think Fields would win a competition for the job if it was a real competition, it wouldn't be though. Additionally however I believe the Steelers will be keeping Justin Fields or the money will be too rich for Ballard which is likely.
Aaron Rodgers? Hope not. This would be a mistake on so many levels so because of this I could see Ballard making a possible run in signing this once great but no longer great quarterback. They could get away with allowing him to, " win ", the job and the young offensive coaching staff I believe is probably salivating for a chance to coach him and have him behind center. Me personally, I believe we'd be watching a slow and painful looking car accident. He will lead the Colts around all season long by their tails. Good or horrific, he's going to demand to be out there, and that's where the problems will arise. The locker room will be for sale on EBay by week 8, and our record will remain at 500 or below it. They'll make a run at him though. Both entities, the Colts brass, and Rodgers himself will make endearing comments to each other, and there we'll have it.
Daniel Jones? I really like Daniel a lot, he's a classy guy, and a seasoned quarterback. Personally, I just don't want him to be my quarterback. Aside from my selfishness though, he is another QB the Colts will make a run at for far different reasons than Aaron Rodgers above. They'll go after Daniel Jones for the sole reason that they'll believe his actual playing ability can be beat by Anthony Richardson. Also they like Daniel's natural passive, agreeable, and team player persona. He's a safe pick, and the Colts brass' ego's along with Anthony Richardson's fragile mental shell will both get the protection that's needed. No threat here.
Jameis Winston? Sure. Fantastic person, positivity pumps from his veins. A solid God fearing man and influence for Anthony Richardson. How can you not really like Jameis? Jameis can throw a football, and has a deep shot much like Anthony's, has accuracy issues and interceptions much like Anthony's, and can win a few games much like Anthony. Can even run a little bit however not like he once used to but he's a gamer for sure. He would be a pretty good mentor for Anthony, and definitely keep him out of trouble. But,…..we're not running a day care here are we? Are we hoping to win, and doing things to make that possible? We shouldn't go after Jameis Winston in my opinion and this is why we probably will.
What would I do? I'd draft a QB, Will Howard, Kyle McCord, Kurtis Rourke, Jalen Milroe, and there are others. I wouldn't use my first round pick for that though.
I'd then bring up Jason Bean from our practice squad, cut Sam Ehlinger, and have a real quarterback competition. A REAL quarterback competition. Oh, I see I already said that. Maybe I said that because we should probably have a REAL quarterback competition though.
So who are we going to end up getting for this real quarterback competition?
The winner is Daniel Jones. The least threatening addition. Another mediocrity assurance for the season ahead.
Sorry for the long post Kent, but I wanted to go on the record before the Colts made their moves.
Again my thanks for your show, and I've missed it for quite awhile as I've had unavoidable tasks both consuming and demanding great focus and concern. Hard to believe another new league year is upon us already, boy that went fast.
Hopefully I can begin to tune in some more but am still very busy. Talk soon I shall hope All the best,
