4. Grew up idolizing Yzerman. Crazy how in year 6 of him taking the reigns of this franchise, I cant stand the thought of him being in charge for another season. Physically makes me sick to think that he is going to go into another off-season with a large sum of money and going to trust the same staff idiots to help him scout and bring in free agents to fill the roster. Miss me with those mitch marner fantasies (its never going to happen). I never thought for a second that we would be buyers at this deadline. My real hope was that we could move out a holl or tarasenko, but steves signings are so bad nobody is dumb enough to think twice about that. For the love of Hockeytown.. Please fire this man. Im done with the Yzerplan

5. Glad to get another goalie. Talbot and especially Lyon have been bad and actively losing the team games.

7. The Walman trade will go down as one of the worst moves in decades of Red Wings history. It is the quintessential Yzerman debacle. I would love, absolutely love, to know exactly what was in the mind of Stevie Y on that day.

   CBJ pick up Fischer for free (1.125/Mil).
   RW pick up Smith for 1/Mil. (+0.125k)
   Send Veleno to Chi (+2.275/Mil)
   Get Mrazek for + 4.250/Mil (= -1.85/Mil).

   A S.Y move that makes the team marginally better among forwards on paper. Smith has made more noise than Veleno has done in RW during the years he was here. Thought he would stand pat, this deal did the opposite. I'm also most glad that no assets were included in the ones that were made.

   RW also now has their tandem goalies ready for next year. Most fans think the team will be worse with this trade, on paper.
   Although as you yourself indicate, some of us think this is good because Cossa is there and we don't really know where he will land GR/RW for next year!

   Mrazek is probably able to play more games than Alex does. I think this is an important piece when the decision was made. Alex needs a contract, hard to see him taking a similar contract next time. Alex has given RW everything he can during his time here. Wherever happens with Alex, I will thank him for that time he has done.

   "The prices are too high"
   It's not worth breaking the bank for any of the big names at TDL. Plus, RW has no depth to get rid of like others want. RW still has the opportunity to find solutions during the off season that comes. S.Y and his Pro scout team have a miserable track record here though.

   RW can't build through the draft, because they don't want to tank. There are limitations to building depth through a draft, WHEN YOU take the best available players every year. The exception is MO…

   Who comes after e.i ASP, and so on? At some point RW have to pay a price to get the job done. At the moment, the top 3 players are missing at key positions, C,1, 1.Winger and 1.R Defender.

   ASP is the one that most people believe in here, however, the question remains what is behind him?

   L, Winger is the position that will probably be the cheapest place to fill from outside. Here is the question who is in GR who can be considered to take that spot today? I don't think RW has a greater depth in their ranks. They need to look outside their own sphere for this type of player.

   Center is expensive as everyone is looking for that type of player. If you can't draft him via a top 3 pick, you have to look outside your own sphere.

   My conclusion is the same as before. RW misses the playoffs and doesn't belong there "yet". This year's off season will be a key time for S.Y if he can't fill the team with a big name. I don't think any of the bigger names want to play in RW today, the team isn't really competitive to get these names "yet".

   So an off season with probably offers slightly less new faces from outside through the fifth year in a row. In the best of all worlds we fans can see more then 1 player coming up from GR for next year? In the worst case we have to prepare ourselves for S.f.Y to sign some washed up Vet or mediocre players for the 6th straight year in a row.

9. Detroit’s drafting and development has been mediocre at best. Detroit has struggled with rounds 2-7. They’ve done a good job with round 1, but most of us could match that performance. Where’s our Point, Wyatt Johnson, Stankovin,
   Duncan Keith,
   Shea Weber,
   Joe Nieuwendyk,
   Patrik Elias,
   Roman Josi,
   Jason Robertson, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, etc… we do have Kienan Draper, however.

11. It was way past due to move on from Veleno, 74 points in 288 games. 1 point every 4 games. No scoring touch, not a burner in the skating department, he was not an influence in the future of the rebuild.

13. Why isnt anyone asking the real questions? The Detroit Red Wings as a franchise has taken in more money under Yzerman than they have in their history as a franchise. Why in the hell would they try any harder to have a winning hockey team if they're already raking in the money hand over fist? Cycle in some beer league level players from GR and then ship em back a month later, get rid of ACTUAL talent for shit goalies. Why can't I as a life-long wings fan question all of the terrible moves the front office has made under Yzerman? Why do I get called a "fairweather fan" when I question the fact that we've yet to make playoffs under Yzerman? How long will the "rebuild" take? Stop being delusional guys, this team as a whole stinks and its not getting better under Yzerman.

14. Steve Y need to be fire please this last trade is the icing on the cake. He know long can run this team. I really love what the sharks got for walman and steve gave him away. Just so mad right now
