    What GM has pulled off a successful tear down and is available?

    About the only guy I can think of would be Sakick.

    Would Nill come back when Dallas is so close?

    Maybe the Vegas GM if he gets canned eventually?

    I hate to say it but there’s far more bad GM’s out there than good ones and they’re not usually available

  3. I’m not trying to be a total hater, but is anyone concerned with the trades/FA signings of the past year, and worried about what will happen this offseason? At this point outside the draft, I just don’t expect the front office to make moves or spend the money wisely

  6. We’re obviously a passionate bunch and I don’t fault anyone for feeling how they do about the state of this team. But, if they win 7 in a row, starting with the Sens on Monday, this entire timeframe means very little and we look ahead. Steve believes in the team and that has to count for something, and I firmly believe that he will reel in a big fish when it makes sense for both the player and the team. Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

  9. The other night, Edvinsson took a crosscheck to the back of the knee from a sour little bitch. 4 officials were on the ice, zero officials saw it happen. That’s bad enough. But what really gets me is that apparently no one on the Wings bench could be bothered to give a shit! This has been going on for years now, and I’m sick of it. The rest of the league knows they can continue to dish it out and take liberties, and the Red Wings won’t do shit about it.

  10. Idk, I can’t really get in a dooming mood after the vibes were so high that long, whiplash. I catch every broadcast but gonna try to take a Red Wings internet break for my sanity. We’ll pull through though.

  13. I’m gonna stop hoping for playoffs and just root for the team to do well once in a while. I don’t have the energy to doom and seethe on the internet.

  14. Sieder has no fight in him this year. He has blown so many assignments this year. We have a team that is soft, no fight. Because we are rotating goalies, they cannot get into a rhythm, as this make many mistakes. When is the last game you can say our goalie won the game?
    Defense is soft, team is reverting to the type of play under Lolonde. It is bad culture. No one is leading.

  15. Went to bed frustrated, woke up frustrated. I just don’t know what to think of Stevie’s lack of urgency. He took too long to fire Lalonde and did nothing during this TDL except bring in a goalie who is no better or worse than what we already have at a price tag that is too high for what he is.

    We lost 3 games to teams we should have beaten and have to beat to be in the playoffs. If that wasn’t a signal that we needed to do SOMETHING, then I don’t know what is. Either we sell off assets in a sellers market and help the future or we buy a player to help the present. But we did nothing and got the expected results against Washington.

    Maybe this will change but today I’m having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

  16. I just really wish this is the last year of Holl, and also Gus. I think we can trade Gus, but Holl is a buyout waiting to happen. Yzerman needs to realize no playoffs next year means he’s gone.

  17. Went to bed frustrated, woke up slightly less so. Yzermans seat needs to be hot. This limbo is not sustainable.

    But I will give him credit for taking us from our darkest days to now. Where we have some prospects to look forward to. Does that excuse his piss look FA? No, not in the slightest. But I’m not gonna act like if I had his job we’d be better. Hell, we’d probably go sub .100 in my short tenure.

    With that being said, it’s times like these that make you truly appreciate the success we’ve had over our history…

  18. Just watched the 2025 Stadium Series drop the NHL put out the other day. Larkin telling Werenski “I’m cheering for you guys” in the handshake is weird. That’s what you tell the other team when they knock you out of the playoffs, not after a regular season game against a team you’re competing with for a playoff spot.

    Ik I’m prob just frustrated and looking for someone to blame but ugh. So tired of this.

  19. Steves only flaw to me during this rebuild is making Kris Draper director of amateur scouting, i like Drapes as much as anyone around here but i think he was a little bit too green to be in such a vital part of rebuilding this organization.

  22. Man, Boston made out like bandits in the Brandon Carlo trade. Minten is a good young prospect and they got a first too. Tidy piece of business there.

  23. Obviously none of it matters if the team doesn’t pull it together now, but stuff that’s happened to the teams around the Wings in the hunt has been kind’ve helpful

    Ottawa: was aggressive, I’ll give them that. Tbd if the Cozens trade works out
    The Devils: lost their best player/F and 2 key defensemen for the season. Could come in handy with the few other teams being metro teams
    Columbus: essentially did nothing at the deadline and lost a few guys to injury
    Rangers: we’re net sellers over the last week
    Boston: blew it all up
    Montreal: did literally nothing

    Against, none of it matters if the Wings don’t step it up

  24. If you watched EP40 play last night, you’d know he still got it and would be a steal. He’s gonna get back to form and all these teams are gonna realize they messed up. He’s was the guy we should’ve got, could’ve been our 1A-1B with Larks. 2 way beast. Sometimes you gotta have guys that can get you to the playoffs before you worry about if they show up in the playoffs or not and EP40 is that guy when he’s on his game.

  27. My only request of the doomers is to doom on Yzerman/org, and be thoughtful.

    We have learned nothing new about the players most complained about. Nor about the limits of guys who lead the way.

    What we have learned is that Yzerman is vastly more patient and reserved than most of our fanbase and most of the teams around us. And that he is currently valuing player traits that are often not well aligned to battle our competition in a proactive way.

    We’ve got another one of those “biggest summer ever” moments coming up after another TDL sitting on our hands while sputtering. Larkin, Razor, and Cat can’t score in the offseason. Seider and Edvinsson can’t defend and decapitate players in the offseason. None of them have the power to use our assets wisely to make this team better in the dinner or at the TDL That’s on Yzerman, and over the last few years he’s done so at a mediocre level. Some good, some bad, but overall still with many, many questions.

    I’m on the sour end of middle with it right now. Rest of my vent in comments…

  28. We definitely should have sold yesterday. We’re now two points up on the Bruins with one game at-hand, and they accepted their fate for the good of the franchise. Even Montreal’s climbed in front of us too.

    The Wings may or may not put it together here, but they surely have the toughest schedule of any of the 5 teams fighting for a wild card. Money Puck has playoff odds down to 11%.

  29. Yesterday on Valenti show (Whether you like him or not is different topic that i dont care to participate in) someone called in mentioning taking 25 to 30 years for rebuild before Valenti hung up on him

    That had to have been a joke call right? I have been a diehard wings fan for all 35 years of my life. If he was dead serious it takes 25 years to rebuild then Im not even going to bother watching hockey anymore. I have met some Steve Bots that I think are over the edge but that opinion is bit much that it has be a joke

  30. My logical take on all this is that they did not have a broadcast from Ozzy’s outdoor rink this year, and that has angered the hockey gods.
