So close…
Serious question: If Sheets doesn’t get a starting spot, did he even have a real shot? What would be expected of him to earn the spot, if not 5 home runs in 4 games?

Based on what I’ve seen so far, and granted that’s only a couple of weeks of spring training. I would cut Heyward, Gurriel, Wade, Maldanado and Joe. My infielders would be: Arraez, Cronenworth/Iglesias, Bogaerts, Machado, Rosario. Outfielders: Tatis, Merrill, Ornelas, Lockridge. DH: Sheets. Catcher: Campusano, Diaz
Weird that they fired Annie and Elsten but kept the 3rd dude. I would have only fired Annie.
The lineup today is mostly full of guys on the margins of the opening day roster. Will be interested to see if those top three end up securing a spot in the next two weeks.
