Dougie Out for the Remainder of the Regular Season (May Return for R2)

  1. People will be happy about this for some weirdo reason but this is a big blow. Hoping for a speedy recovery and hopefully he can be back for round 2 if needed.

  2. Think I’m done with Dougie. He was good for what it’s worth, buts it’s time to move on.

I say offload him to Vancouver mid season next year for Quinn. They must know at this point he’s coming to NJ one way or another.

  3. I did think it was strange that during the Flyers game both Liam McHugh and the broadcast team mentioned that Dougie was out long term. Didn’t seem to get picked up by anyone to the point that I assumed they just meant Seigs

  4. He’ll miss at least 19 games this year, missed 62 last year; and 20 the year before. Cannot be relied on at this point in his career and they should think about moving him out if possible. They’re going to need money for Luke unless they bridge him.

  5. I have a bad feeling that we won’t be seeing Dougie on the ice until training camp next season. I don’t think they’ll rush him back. I have somewhat of the same feeling with Siegs but Fitz did seem more optimistic of him returning for the playoffs (barring they get in). Needless to say, this sucks.

  6. Good news is Luke is playing 10x better than last year and can comfortably step up in the absence of Siegs and Dougie. I thought he looked great as the PP1 qb the last game.

Plenty of fresh legs to rotate in with Nemec, Casey and Hatakka too. Add the fact that we have a legit goalie tandem this year that regularly keeps them in games and I’m not gonna overreact to this news.

  7. What exactly was his injury? I can’t find anything definitive on it.

That stinks. Jack is my son’s favorite player and Dougie is mine.

Let’s keep rolling boys. Next man up.
