Hi all, since the big club has been ass I wanted to post my top 25 prospects and think about hopefully a brighter future. I have spent the last few years watching a ton of our drafted prospects play and develop and wanted to compare my thoughts to yours. Let me know where you agree and disagree with my rankings or specific players what you think I am way too high on or vice versa. Open to all criticism I just want to get some solid prospect dialogue going.

Disclaimer: i do not rank or watch goalies because i don’t understand the position and don’t believe I ever will.

    A lot of people are sour on MBN but he’s playing on a Skelffeta team that has struggled this year until lately and he’s what 18-19. He’s definitely got potential and no doubt will we see him in Detroit in 2-3 years.

  9. I still don’t really see what everyone else sees in Lombardi. I don’t think he has the B-game to be successful in the NHL, and I don’t think his strengths are good enough to overcome that.

  11. if your second best prospect is aged 21 scoring 15 goals in 61 games in an much inferior league you don’t know how to draft and hes more suspect than prospect … go compare the wings to the stars

  15. I remember when we drafted Buch a lot of people thought it was a wasted pick, it was a reach, almost like another Kivenmäki type of thing. And just look at that boy now

  17. Good list. Wallinder is the only one that’s out of place. He should be top 10. Definitely over tuomisto, probably over buium too. I would put Danielson at 2 as well, I think he has a higher ceiling than most people are saying. I’m sure people will flame me but I think Danielson has 1c potential. I also think Emmitt finnie is going to keep climbing our prospects ladder. He’s an insane 7th round pick.

  18. Here’s a question I have for those more informed. I’m reading the comments and scratching my head over this. If goalies are such a crap shoot to turn out the why would any team draft one with their first pick? It’s obvious wings have D and G weaknesses but I’ve been screaming for Stevie to call up Cossa. Then there’s Augustine lurking too. Are they waiting to have a better defensive group? I doubt Cossa could be worse than what we currently have. Plus the move for Mrazek seemed like desperation and a slap at Talbot and Lyon. Husso was just awful when he played. Help me out here

  19. I think this is a pretty good list. I have some differing opinions but respect your opinions. I wouldn’t do 25 simply because some don’t have a shot or have shown they have a shot. Hanas isn’t even on my board same with viro. Kiiskinen too high. Lombardi a smidge too high. Tuomisto too high. Wallinder and Becher not high enough. But I like this exercise and your explanations in the comments.

  22. Does anyone think Kiiskinen signs his ELC and moves to GR once this season ends? His team is starting playoffs next week

  28. The more I watch Nate. The more I think he’s right behind Sandin-Pellikka and probably the highest immediate need. Had a sick game winner in the SO last night! Love Amo, but his size…I agree with your rating but I fear the “experts” will pick on him for it and it’ll keep him down longer than it should.
