Only tangentially Devils related, it is only a few seconds and it’s just her voice, not even on camera.
It’s a good piece though. I do really hate how the sports betting ads have become so prevalent. Can’t watch a game without constantly having this stuff shoved down your throat.
(Hope it doesn’t need to be said, but in no way blaming/attacking Rachel, she’s just doing her job. It’s more of an industry criticism.)

So sick of all the gambling ads
It really is insane that they are allowed to put so much betting content everywhere nowadays. I used to be all for allowing betting, people are adults and should be allowed to do what they want, and so on, but the results have really changed my mind.
Betting is a societal harm and these fucking ads are annoying as fuck.
Yeah it really sucks, I have dabbled / continue to dabble in it, but having them read out these ridiculous bets mid game is so stupid, if you wanted to bet on a team, the time to do it would be before they go up 3 goals to nothing. They never even discuss a bet that might make sense or have some value because that’s exactly what they (the sports books) want you not to bet.
Oddly, she managed to read that ad smoothly. I find her typical manner of often pausing unnatural and grating. And unlike Dano, she doesn’t have a career worth of goodwill built up to offset it.
I hated these even when Erika was still here. Felt like EVERY commercial break started and returned with a “Let’s look at the live odds! Good news if you took the over/under”
I don’t bother sports betting but the ads are so annoying
On one hand borderline unregulated gambling is a plague not just on sports but our society as a whole. On the other hand the examples they give aren’t particularly good. Like a college kid throwing together a dozen small parlays and blowing 100 bucks on the opening day of March Madness seems pretty tame when the damage this causes
is much deeper.
[Besides. Sports gambling pales in comparison to the unfairness of online casinos.](https://www.americangaming.org/resources/commercial-gaming-revenue-tracker/) That’s the real problem. They get dumb sports fans to join for the sportsbook, but then they stay for the casino games where they mindlessly ‘boredom-bet’ during the day.
