  1. NBC, you just need to overhaul your research department whenever you talk about sports. This two day season opener in Japan means so much more than just Ohtani. This report was actually quite disrespectful to the MLB and Japanese players who have been doing this for 25 years now. Including the last time MLB and the Seattle Mariners was there at the end of 2019 to honor Ichiro Susuki. Plus you could've mentioned the other players and firsts happening with this series, like the pitching match up. Trying to act like Ohtani is the ambassador of all that is ignoring the 25 years before this. When the Cubs played the Mets in the Tokyo Dome in 2000 for the first time.

  2. It's always the one mega star in sports that makes that game rise in popularity. Michael for basketball. Tiger for golf. Now Ohtani for baseball, worldwide. It's so cool to see the defending world series champion starting a season overseas.
