I am more curious what the ownership will choose to do. Atm Preds are the ideal twilight zone for old, slow, overpaid players. Bruno is tanking efficiently, I will give him that. 4/4 losses against this years version of Ducks – KEKW
AK/EL, thanks for the ask on my question (EL, listen I'm just a simple bird lawyer lol—I'm already pivoting to March Madness here and SEC showing some dominance–give this dude a break). I'm a pie in the sky fan here—your point is well taken much like anything in sports it's a little part dumb luck a little part smart, timely moves…you can throw the NFL in there with the NHL. Even in drafting a QB—you think a guy such as Cam Ward MIGHT be the answer but it's like gambling there is variable, risk involved in everything–we don't know. We literally don't know what we don't know. This is why even after Barry's spending spree I was slow rolling expectations as a fan I said "well I'm expecting playoffs at least" (imagine my surprise) lol. It is what it is. I'll just use this example, Edmonton selected quite literally, inarguably the number 1 player, will be the highest paid guy—literally the "guy" in Mr. Connor McDavid. What happened in the first 5 years? Edmonton missed the playoffs first 3 out of 5 seasons and was eliminated in early rounds in the other 2 years. Only now, do the Oilers, seemingly (although I'd say the defense is blah), have their act together. So, all that to say, we have no clue—there is never a sure thing. Hopefully, we'll see some improvements.
Thanks for answering my draft question. In my opinion, drafting Schaefer wouldn’t be the worst thing because he can be that defensive stepping stone from Josi, just as Josi was from Weber. I really DO want a great center though. 😎
I’m in a mood to give Barry a break. Even though his signings didn’t work out, he really tried to build a winner. I’d rather have a GM that tries than one that’s cool just building a “middle of the road” team.
