  1. Jose Suarez's career numbers looking at each pitch:

Slider .350 wOBA, .315 xwOBA 35.1% Hard Hit, 30.6% Whiff

Curve .354 wOBA, .315 xwOBA, 23.5% Hard Hit, 25.1% Whiff

Cutter .429 wOBA, .301 xwOBA, 66.7% Hard Hit, 20.0% Whiff

    2-Seamer .365 wOBA, .362 xwOBA, 33.0% Hard Hit, 8.9% Whiff

    4-Seamer .418 wOBA, .400 xwOBA, 51.5% Hard Hit, 19.5% Whiff

Sweeper .226 wOBA, .249 xwOBA, 17.4% Hard Hit, 36.1% Whiff

Changeup .286 wOBA, .277 xwOBA, 23.5% Hard Hit, 34.7% Whiff

You about have to just have Suarez throw the Sweeper and Changeup, along with picking which Fastball you want him to throw (2-Seamer or 4-Seamer). Just looking at basic numbers, you would say that the 2-Seamer doesn't get teed off of like the 4-Seamer, but the 4-Seamer produces double the Whiff rate. When looking at induced break the 4-Seamer actually carries well, above average at that. So it might be a matter of location for his 4-Seamer, as left handers completely tee off on it far more than right handers do which doesn't seem right considering he's a left handed pitcher.

  2. I’m glad they traded Anderson for his sake. He’s a major league starter and he wasn’t gonna start in this rotation. He walks too many guys to be effective out of the pen. He has no options left so he would get claimed immediately. Got some lefty help out of the pen for him. Glad Ian will have a good chance to be a consistent part of a rotation. It’s a good fit for him with the Angels. Wash knows him. Travis d’Arnaud and Solar won a WS with him. d’Arnaud has caught him a bunch. It should be an easy transition. Fresh start with some familiar faces. Wish him the best.

  3. Lindsay you can rejoice about AJSS. I can't get the 2023 and 2024:playoff appearances out of my head. Where he just was way off the plate or flat over the middle.
