With the 2025 NFL draft looming, the Atlanta Falcons are on the hunt for immediate impact players to bolster their defense. Host Aaron Freeman and guest Jarvis Davis (@LockedOnATL) dissect the Falcons’ urgent need for “high floor” defenders, exploring potential draft picks and trade scenarios. They emphasize the importance of securing edge rushers and long corners to enhance the team’s defensive prowess. The conversation also touches on the strategic parallels with the successful 2016 draft class, featuring players like Keanu Neal and Deion Jones. 1. This team has so many holes on defense one offseason with no money to spend won’t fix it. Sorry Aaron, they’re about to drive you crazy again. Offense better score 30 a game…

  2. It would be smart for the Falcons to build a weakness and make it their identity. Draft Mykell in the first, and grab a DT in the second. Guys who can immediately impact the run defense and make life easier for the LBs to rally. We’re not facing a murders row of QBs next year, but we are facing some good rushing attacks.

  3. I'm a fan of Darien Porter out of Iowa State in the 2nd round cause we know for certain that the Falcons are going pass rusher rd 1. Love his size of 6'3 195 with a 4.3 40 yard dash.

  4. GM himself is the perfect example of developmental failure w the Falcon org. They seem to operate under the delusion to think they know how to develop players and a winning culture. Saying " thank goodness" we signed Penix because what a big mess we would be in otherwise. The only reason we pinning hopes on him is the bone stupid idea we are a solid QB away from competence. As Cousins says, he did not forget how to play football. Penix flashed but lost two of three games w mediocre QBR. All i hear is same old job protecting hype we always hear from the front office. Fully expect the same ineffective D we have seen for years.

  5. Why does everyone ignore Ruke he barely played last year he’s a 2nd round pick let him develop we don’t need another DT

  6. I think if they go Mike Green, Shavon Revel Jr or Maxwell Hairston, and Andrew Mukuba 1st, 2nd, 4th, those are immediate starters. Or Mike Green, Nic Scourton, Cobee Bryant or Zah Frazier, 1,2,4 that’s another set of immediate starters. I watch film, not highlights, and I believe those groupings could come in and start for the falcons immediately. This pass rush makes me sick to my stomach if I’m Terry I can’t even sleep at night knowing this is my pass rush. I’m a UGA and Falcons fan and trust me I want a UGA guy to be the Falcons cornerstone. But I’ll be pissed if we passed over Mike Green for Jalon Walker (with no clear plan) or Mykel Williams. If we traded back to 20-25, that’s the only time I’ll be happy that we got Mykel. And I like James Pearce but i don’t think this coaching staff is good enough to make him behave unless they prove otherwise. As for Shemar I’ve never been a traits guy (although it’s hard to deny the talent), we can’t afford to hope Shemar becomes Myles Garrett, I’d take the sure thing with Mike Green 9/10 times. Ezeiruaku had the least impressive 16.5 sacks I’ve ever seen. He has a weak bull rush and would get manhandled by larger OTs in the run game. Mike Green is the best all around that’ll be available to us. Cuz obviously Mr. Carter will not be available to us.
