The San Diego Padres continue to set a historic pace to their 2025 season and they sweep the first home stand and sit at 7-0. They are now off to Chicago and the friendly confines of Wrigley Field to start the first road trip of 2025.

Congrats to Jackson Merrill for signing his 9-year extension yesterday and continuing to have a great start to the season. I think I speak for Padres fans everywhere when I say thank you Jackson for your hard work and dedication to our city and franchise, we are lucky and grateful to have to you!

I didn’t recognize Machado. 😂 I also noticed that Brandon is the one carrying the stereo-looking suitcase now—I wonder if it’s a “rookie” thing since Jackson was always the one carrying it last year. Same with the cooler that Cruz now carries, which Matsui had last year as well.
