Hunter Greene Is A Bad Ass | Cincinnati Reds Starting Pitcher SHOVES vs San Francisco Giants

Hunter Greene delivered a masterful performance for the Cincinnati Reds against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park, leading his team to a 2-0 victory and snapping the Giants’ seven-game winning streak. The game, an Opening Day rematch between Greene and Giants ace Logan Webb, showcased Greene’s dominance as he nearly completed a shutout, falling just one out short of a rare Maddux—a complete-game shutout on fewer than 100 pitches.

Greene was electric from the start, relying heavily on his four-seam fastball, which he threw 59 times out of his 104 pitches. Six of those fastballs eclipsed 100 mph, with 28 more registering at least 99 mph, keeping Giants hitters off balance. His slider, thrown 33 times, proved equally devastating, generating 11 whiffs and drawing praise from Giants manager Bob Melvin, who noted Greene’s ability to hit 100 mph even in the ninth inning. Over 8.2 innings, Greene allowed just four hits, issued one walk, and struck out seven, lowering his season ERA to an impressive 1.31 across 20.2 innings.
The game remained scoreless through seven innings, with Webb matching Greene’s brilliance, scattering four hits and striking out 10 over seven frames.

The Reds finally broke through in the eighth against the Giants’ bullpen. After Camilo Doval and Erik Miller faltered, Blake Dunn’s two-run double down the right-field line provided the game’s only offense, scoring Spencer Steer and Jacob Hurtubise. Greene returned for the ninth, aiming to finish what he started, but ran into trouble with two outs. Jung Hoo Lee singled, and Matt Chapman walked, prompting Reds manager Terry Francona to turn to Tony Santillan. Santillan sealed the win, retiring Heliot Ramos on a 106.7 mph lineout.

Greene’s outing was a statement of his potential as Cincinnati’s ace. Despite a 0-1 record entering the game, his 2.25 ERA through two starts reflected his early-season form, and this performance underscored his growth into one of the league’s premier pitchers. For the Reds, now 4-7, the win offered a glimmer of hope after a tough weekend in Milwaukee. Greene’s near-complete gem not only outdueled Webb but also handed the Giants, who boasted an 8-1 record, just their second loss of the season—both at the hands of Cincinnati.

  1. I'm wondering which "shit-state" "stud" is from or lives in. I'm also wondering why the person who sent that post chose to include at leat 2 misnomers in it.
