Wart
Anyway, heres how to change the oil on a VW Golf.
Warm the Engine:
Drive the Golf for 5-10 minutes to warm the oil, making it drain more easily.
Safety First:
Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and use jack stands for safety, notes Blauparts.
Locate Drain Plug and Oil Filter:
Familiarize yourself with the location of the oil drain plug and oil filter.
Gather Supplies:
You'll need a new oil filter, the correct type and quantity of engine oil, a drain pan, an oil filter wrench, and a wrench for the drain plug.
2. Draining the Old Oil:
Remove Splash Pan (if applicable): On some Golf models, you'll need to remove a splash pan under the engine to access the drain plug.
Position Drain Pan: Place the drain pan under the drain plug.
Remove Drain Plug: Loosen and remove the drain plug (usually a 19mm wrench), allowing the old oil to drain into the pan.
Drain Thoroughly: Let the oil drain completely before proceeding.
3. Replacing the Oil Filter:
Locate Oil Filter:
Find the oil filter, notes Blauparts.
Remove Old Filter:
Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter.
Clean and Prepare New Filter:
Clean the mounting surface of the engine where the oil filter fits and remove the old rubber O-ring from the new oil filter.
Install New Filter:
Lubricate the rubber O-ring of the new filter with fresh oil and install it, hand-tightening it.
4. Reassembly and Refilling:
Reinstall Drain Plug: Replace the drain plug, ensuring it's tightened securely with the correct torque (consult your owner's manual or the drain plug itself.)
I haven’t been following the nfl very long but I never heard of Derek.
