  1. Despite having a tremendous young group and hitting on their draft picks, Baltimore has made moves that have not helped. Trading for a one year rental (corbin burnes) was a waste of prospects. The connor norby trade looks one sided in the direction of the marlins. Not trading anthony santander and austin hays while they both had value was also a big miss.

They should have played for 2025-2028 instead of trying to thread the needle for the few years before all the prospects made landfall. I also think Brandon Hyde is a blowhard of a human and generally unlikeable.

  2. Henderson and Holliday are Boras clients which means you will never extend them before they have reached free agency. The problem with the O's is they may have overvalued the ceiling of their prospects. Henderson looks like the real deal. Holliday is an everyday infielder but whether he blossoms into a top fifteen hitter remains to be seen. Signing O'Neill was no replacement for Santander who may have hit in the .220's last year but had clutch at bats and always worked the count, something that strikeout prone O'Neill can't do. The Gary Sanchez signing did not improve the roster. If not for the veteran Cedric Mullins having a great start to his walk year, the O's would be lower in the AL East basement than they already are. The Angelos family took a lot of heat as owners but I give them credit. They may have sold when then this cycle of players were at their peak. Elias was magic in the beginning but I think he fell in love with the really good prospects in his farm system. Prospects are called prospects for a reason, they are nothing more than prospects until they prove they are not.
