Arizona has moved on from the Coyotes pretty fast.

  1. I mean, I’m sure Yotes fans still feel the hurt. But the VGK are doing a great job of actually caring, so it makes sense to embrace the positivity. Better to not dwell too much on the bad, and who knows, maybe someday the Yotes will be back.

(Also, the last time I saw this pic, I legitimately thought it was a picture in Vegas, I apologize 😭)

  2. Ii am a fan; last game of a Yotes playing here I walked out the door & became a Knights fan.

  3. I’m a Knights fan living in Phoenix, so I’m hoping the VGK come play a few “outreach” games a year here (like the NFL’s International Series). Of course I’m only half joking as this will never happen (but if anyone in the front office is on here, totally pitch this idea), but a 41-year-old kid can dream.

  4. Advertising like this is from VGK, and is largely because they’ve been so incredibly active within our community.

I’m a Coyotes fan and we’ve had things pretty rough. Between organizational drama, and hateful discourse in an attempt to outcast our fanbase from hockey. Everywhere you go there would be some type of slander towards the organization and the fans. Even the premise of this post is “sheesh y’all moved on quickly haha!!!!”. When everyone else was finally happy the Coyotes left because “Arizona didn’t deserve it”. When we were mad and upset, all anyone had to say was “oh no the few hockey fans in Arizona are sad…. Anyway”. The VGK organization was there to say “Hey. That does actually really suck. Losing your team sucks, and we’re sorry. Everything’s okay though. We care about you, the community, and everything the Coyotes did for hockey in Arizona. Hockey does belong in the desert. We’re going to continue these efforts, and if you would like to become a fan we welcome you with open arms”. VGK has made 3 trips during the season to Arizona. They’ve picked up where the Coyotes left off and have been actively engaged in the community, sponsoring ball hockey clinics in schools and community centers, sponsoring watch parties, supporting youth programs, and partnering with local organizations to continue promoting hockey in Arizona. They even worked out a deal with local antenna TV channels in Phoenix, and Tucson, to broadcast some of their games.

I mean a lot of people are still really hurt about the relocation. It’s a bit of a sore topic here. I don’t think it’s a matter of “we’ve moved on”. We still don’t have hockey here, but VGK has been there when nobody else seemed to care. It’s very respectful, and shows class from VGK. They didn’t have to do any of that. Nobody else did. I think it’s definitely starting to grow on some people
