Duke Tobin Hints At Cincinnati Bengals Draft Strategy Trading Pick 17 Trading Trey Hendrickson
On April 21, 2025, Cincinnati Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin held a press conference ahead of the NFL Draft, expressing optimism about the team’s direction. Tobin highlighted the retention of the Bengals’ potent offense, with key players like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins secured through new contracts, ensuring continuity. He emphasized the team’s scoring prowess, stating, “We can outscore anyone,” but acknowledged the need to bolster the defense to achieve championship status. Tobin outlined a defensive rebuild under new coordinator Al Golden, who has provided a “clear vision” for the unit, with the draft pivotal in addressing gaps, particularly in the pass rush and secondary.
Tobin discussed the draft strategy, noting the Bengals’ No. 17 pick offers flexibility to target high-impact players. He expressed interest in versatile prospects, like West Virginia’s Wyatt Milum, a tackle projected to switch to guard, addressing offensive line needs. Tobin avoided specifics on trade scenarios but indicated openness to moving up or down based on value. He also addressed the Paycor Stadium situation indirectly, focusing on team-building rather than venue disputes, aligning with ongoing Hamilton County negotiations for a renovated or new facility.
The press conference reflected confidence in the Bengals’ core, with Tobin praising the front office’s offseason moves, including re-signings like Joseph Ossai and Samaje Perine. However, he admitted last season’s defensive shortcomings, particularly in finishing games, and stressed the need for young talent to complement veterans like Trey Hendrickson. Fans on X echoed Tobin’s defensive focus, urging early draft picks to prioritize that side of the ball. Overall, Tobin projected a proactive approach to the draft and roster construction, aiming to elevate the Bengals into true contenders.

I don't believe one word Tobin says. The same guy said he doesn't want to pay more and bring back the same team yet here we are. Actually paying more for a worse roster
6 picks: 1. 3-tech DT. 2. Guard 3. Linebacker. 4-6 BPA. Keep Tre if you want to win it all this year.
I believe either Trey or Pratt get dealt during this draft for picks , maybe even both
