  1. Damn, Chris King was definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but he was uniquely ours. Gonna be weird not hearing him anymore

  2. I’ve been a hockey fan for 50 years and I don’t think I ever listened to a game on the radio. However, it’s a staple medium for some folks so I hope they keep it alive.

  3. Time to find a new radio PBP guy and partner Butchie with him. Hickey and Brendan as the duo for TV with Cal between the benches. Shannon still does her thing.

  4. Really liked Kinger, once I got used to him.

Never hearing “Radio Hofstra University” again is almost as good news as Lou going.

  5. Not a fan of this move at all. I’ve listened to many games on radio and always enjoyed King and Picker.

  6. this whole thing is fucking ridiculous. letting go of kinger (and greg) is stupid enough, but being a pro sports team and not having a radio broadcast would be embarrassing. i know we’re a smaller fanbase and hockey on the radio is not very popular as is, but come on now

  7. I listen to the radio or stream when I have to. King is a maniac when we score. Don’t we need a radio/streaming outlet?

  8. This sucks, I grew up listening to games on the radio in the car with my dad so it’s very nostalgic for me. I still do it sometimes if I happen to be driving during a game. Also just hate to hear of people being let go in general ☹️

  9. That’s too bad man. King’s energy really made for a good broadcast even when he was doing it all himself.

  10. Huh. That’s a bummer. It’s hard enough to listen to the games as it is, but at least it was an option. And what about the podcast, I wonder?

  11. Rough move. We did have a good broadcast team when you could actually find them on the dial. I will miss them, especially those times when I’m in the car and not home for a big game.

Do you think they’d simulcast the TV broadcast instead?

  12. Is he basing “may not have a radio broadcast” on anything other than they were let go? Seems like a big leap to make that assumption.

Sucks those guys were let go but If they don’t replace them with another radio situation it would be an absolute embarrassment.

  13. WTF!!!! This makes no sense at all, King was great. Maybe the screaming is a little much but when its a real highlight it goes so well. He deserves better

  14. This is shitty but I can’t image the listenership was crazy high anymore. Big hit for Hofstra though.
