Comparing it to his page last year he seems to have figured out how to increase his launch angle sweet-spot percentage (his only peripheral that was well below average last year at 17th percentile).
Now that he’s lifting the ball his slug is through the roof. Man has 6 homers in 56 ABs versus 16 homers in 499 ABs last year. That’s a 10.71 AB/HR ratio and would be third best among qualified hitters.
Only thing that has worsened from his page relative to last year is his chase%, which has to be a team/hitting strategy as most of of our hitters have been super aggressive resulting in the team leading the league in chase% for the majority of the season.
Now we’re only 3rd worse in chase% which is nice to see since it did feel like we were really trying to work longer ABs and walks in the A’s series.
I really hope ownership works on an extension this offseason. He could easily be the next cornerstone player for us. The Mike Trout comparisons he received after the draft don’t really seem that far-fetched now.
The week he got drafted , he was sitting in left field with his family row infront of mine , funny part is no one recognized him , I only noticed because 4 or 5 people were wearing Langford jerseys , so the week of the draft keep your eyes open in the stands for jerseys of newly drafted players.
Dude is a stud!
So happy he’s a Ranger
I agree he is a laser
Geez man i freaking love Wyatt Langford and Johnston
Wyatt! Laaaaangford!
Watching him sprint off the field because he knew he was up to bat and hitting a monster homerun immediately after made me remember why I love Wyatt Langford.

Please let him be a Ranger for life
Can’t wait for some money to roll off the books so the Rangers can extend him long term.
I really think Langford still has a good bit of upside especially in the walk rate area which should help flow to everything else.
He seems to have a hell of a future
We drafted him the same year we won the world series lol what a year that was
I was just looking at his baseballsavant page this morning, and, man, is he a certified *DUDE*.
