  1. Offense has fallen back to earth, should have been able to win with Phillies having 1 run going into the 9th…

  2. The schedule from hell is finally over. A lot of us said we’d be happy to finish around 500. Definitely exceeded expectations.

  3. I don’t know what’s up with Dansby, if it’s an injury, just early season struggles, something mental (his wife has been away from her team for like two months?), but he is actively hurting us in the lineup right now. Something has to change.

  4. Tough loss but my god the game threads become totally unhinged when everything isn’t going this team’s way.

  5. Dansby needs to hit 8 or 9. Absolute poor effort yesterday and today. Onto Pittsburgh. Don’t shit the bed, boys.

  6. Dansby needs to be moved down to 7th or 8th. His production does not justify being middle of the lineup when he can’t even hit above 200. Its ridiculous. Nobody gets paid more for doing less.

  7. I’m ready to see Shaw get more major league reps instead of whatever this is at third base

  8. It’s a really sound strategy that we have to score 6/7 runs every game to win or else we have no fucking chance.

Maybe one year the Ricketts/Jed will be interested in putting together a good baseball team. These guys are bums.

  9. Well, it’s always a pleasure to hear Pat Hughes call a Cubs game, even if a disappointing result.

  10. I blame cubs being on ESPN for the loss. I imagine that schedule and pulling all those victories out from the jaws of defeat has taken a lot of energy. That being said Dansby looks casual out there

  11. The phillies reliever in the 10th inning had an era of over 10 and we couldn’t score with a runner on 2nd. On top of the fact that we made Aaron Nola look like a cy young candidate. This lineup actually kind of sucks

  12. Yall are so dramatic. We will be fine. Shaw doubled and homered today and Ballesteros ops 1.061!

  13. All I know is half the people in the GDT are insufferable and act like there’s not 162 games to play

  14. Also, hard to be mad at the bullpen here. Pitchers allowed only 3 runs. If your offense cannot even score 4 runs to win, that is 100% on the offense.

  15. They need to send Swanson down the lineup. I know that’s not Craig’s philosophy, but he’s just a rally killer.

Every time I hear someone mention how good the bottom of the lineup is doing, I think it most has to do with the fact that Counsell refuses to adjust the lineup.

  16. Whatever. Toughest part of the schedule for the year is done and we are 17-12. Idc. Still happy with the overall results. I’m ready to ship Turner and Brujan out of here. Ballesteros looks ready to call up. Horton is probably ready too. Bring Shaw back up in a bit and things can really get going.

  17. Watching the bullpen in the 10th was tough, but our offense had 9 innings to get more than 1 before that happened.

  18. The simple fact is the Cubs lost every game this series where JD didn’t call the game
