In Crim we trust?

  1. It’s a bit of a strange move. Burger was just batting in the top four of our lineup. He was a big offseason acquisition. Crim is not a young phenom, IIRC. I think the front office is as desperate as we are to make something of the season and not have a Morbid May at the plate.

  2. Did this guy play in Spring training at all? For the life of me, I don’t remember hearing his name before people started mentioning him in the game chats last few days.

I’d like to see an Alejandro Osuna cameo soon. Guy killed it during Spring training.

  3. Crim has long been talked about over in the lonestarball.com comments section – He’s quietly been very solid for many years in the minors at this point, and has played a ton of winter ball in Latin America. I think he’s kind of a legend for Escogido in the DR. Not a super toolsy guy, but he’s going to do basically exactly what we thought Jake Burger was going to do: Hit about .265, pop a couple pull-side home runs, and play average defense at first.

I saw a Roughriders game in San Antonio a few years ago, and I was sitting right behind the visitor’s dugout. Crim came out to the on deck circle, and I yelled really loudly “THAAAA CRRIIIIIIIIMMMMMM REEEEAAAAPPPPAAAAA” and he turned around and chuckled
