  1. Zero urgency from our fielders up 1-0 and bottom of the 9th. A microcosm of this team. How do you not realize he’s trying to score there? How do you not immediately throw it home? Just feels like they don’t care

  2. When Pagan came in to pitch the ninth, I said that I should live bet: he walks the leadoff hitter and the Braves win. I didn’t bet. Missed out on some good money

  3. I love all of our players and it makes me sad that they keep getting worse. I can literally see them second guessing every move and their confidence dwindle.

The young ones, it’s even more painful. They come in absolutely on fire and become heroes. I want to see these guys thrive, but it seems there’s not enough guidance to get them to progress

  4. You can’t go multiple games with no offense and expect to be a contending team. Team is wasting so many great outings from the starters.

  5. IMHO The lack of communication on the Reds is a serious problem. Not yelling and calling the player to throw home or four is a huge example of that. The second baseman has no idea, as his back is turned away from home plate, it takes a split second for him to turn and look to where to throw the ball. If someone had been saying four or home he could and should have thrown the ball quicker.

  6. Little late to the party but the Elly/TySteve back to back combo in extras is a nightmare blunt rotation lol. Everyone in the park knew what was gonna happen there

  7. When ownership takes winning seriously, I’ll take this team seriously. A bunch of AAAA players not gonna get you over .500

  8. Our “contention window” was a 12 game winning streak in July 2023.

    Sigh.

  9. At least we have Benson and Hinds to complain about not being up instead of Mike Ford. That’s gotta count for something /s

  10. Elly at the plate in a big moment looks like he doesn’t know what sport he’s playing.

  11. We are going to Mike Trout. Elly. Never the see the postseason. Trout has 1 postseason hit a double. That’s it

  12. Good April turned to a disaster of a May last year. On the same exact trajectory again

  13. Elly: regressing into “Ozzy Smith but mediocre at defense” is not gonna get you that $1 billion contract from the Dodgers. Keep slapping those infield singles and choking with the game on the line, “superstar.” Boom roasted.

TySteve: you’re an “offensive catcher” that can’t hit. Or catch. That platinum sombrero will go great with your stone hands and noodle arm. Boom roasted.

McLain: my grandmother called, she wants her hamstrings back. And she said you couldn’t fall out of a boat and hit water. Boom roasted.

Steer: more Ks than hits and 0 WAR? That’s pretty cool! Boom roasted.

Dunn: I keep hearing about how he’s one of the fastest men in the league, yet 95% of the time he’s moving pretty slow—walking back to the dugout after another K. Boom roasted.

I hate this team like only a true fan ever could

  14. The creeping feeling that we’re doing the same shit and instantly cratering in May is not great.

  15. Too early to count us out. Baseball is a strange beast.

If we are under .500 at the break I typically call it a year but still listen and watch the games.

Just kind of is expected at this point though, sadly.

Been a fan since 96. I haven’t seen a playoff series win in my entire tenure as a Reds fan, so I’m just used to the mediocrity. Hard to get too excited when the front office seems to kamikaze our dreams of success as fans year in and year out.

It’s still great to have gotten to see incredible moments that still give me chills when I think of Marty screaming his head off in pure joy. But he’s gone too.

The last few seasons I’ve missed more and more games. Went to less. Watched less. Listened to less. That’s pretty devastating because baseball is my end all be all when it comes to sports and I’m very loyal to this city.

    Fucking SAD brothers and sisters

  16. We’ve got zero watchable players right now. A lotta guys who probably don’t belong in the majors

  17. We don’t need or want Tyler Stephenson back. That dude is ass! We got the catches thing figured out. Why should we bring back this bum and ruin everything?! Fuck

  18. I love Matt McLain. I def think he will turn it around but MAN, how much longer are we going to bat him 2nd? How can a lineup produce with a guy hitting .160 in the two hole with a 37% k-rate?

God love him but he is absolutely killing us

  19. Welcome back Tyler. You’ve struck out in half of your at bats.

    And McLain, you just suck.

  20. You have to remember it takes awhile to rediscover your swing after shoulder issues look how long it took suarez

  21. Unbelievably frustrating game, can’t hit to save our life. Closer comes in and walks the 1st batter. Geez
