Los Angeles Dodgers vs Arizona Diamondbacks (5-8-25) MLB Game Predictions & Analysis

[Music] 9:03 9:04 we’ve got our boy Yashobu Yamamoto and the Dodgers at – 161. Brandon F and the Dbacks at plus 143. This total of nine flat across the board at minus 110. Bdub, it’s your boy Yamamoto. I like honestly is another one. This whole week has been I think pretty tough cards quite frankly. That’s why you’ve seen me do a lot of these like longer shot parlays and stuff cuz I really didn’t like any want to risk anything on anything unless it was going to pay off just for fun cuz I thought it’s been just a tough week in terms of betting odds for the for baseball cards. This is another one I I really consider I consider Dodgers, Blue Jays, Phillies runline parlay. That’s what I wanted to go with today. Uh I like the Dodgers in this spot. Yamamoto profiles well, but that Diamondbacks lineup can be a little bit scary at times, right BDub? What do you got in this one? Dodgers Dbacks. It’s a tough call because I, you know, I’m still pretty bullish on the Diamondbacks, but it’s hard for me to play them. The the the bullpen’s in kind of disarray and and that would happen if you lose. So, I had Puck and and Martinez. I think they were top not only top 10, I think they were top five uh relievers in baseball. I don’t know if either one of them is going to going to get back into the game this season. Uh which is unfortunate. And then they’ve, you know, Burns had a he’s been healthy the whole time and he’s he’s had a shoulder inflammation, had to miss a start. They gave him a cortisone injection. I think he’ll be back and I’m going to look to play him uh his next time out. I think he’s been been itching to go there. Uh but this game I’ve got priced at minus 133. I’m going to stay away from it from a side standpoint. Um I love both offenses. You know, the Dodgers, 126 uh weighted runs created, plus that puts them first in baseball. But you know who the second team is, and they’re not far behind. And this is an aggregate of last 500 played appearances for each batter versus right-handed pitching, and they’re at 122. So, they’re really close offensively. And part of that is is the the ability of of Corbin Carroll uh to get hits. And I thought that this was a really interesting stat. And in fact, I had to kind of check my aggregator because I thought this this is wrong. But since July 1st uh of last season, he’s played he’s started 51 games uh at home and he’s gotten a hit in 46 of those games. That’s 90%. That would give you a price of minus 920. And he’s priced in in market right now like minus 220. Uh, I didn’t want to lay the the sauce on a prop, so I put them in in in a parlay uh on the card. I did uh Carol Naylor to each get a hit. And it’s a little It’s minus 103, so you have to risk one to win 96. They’ve been at home in the lineup together uh 12 times and they’ve they’ve uh they’ve this this bet has hit seven of those. So that’s like minus 133. So there’s a little bit of indication there. So that’s kind of how I played it, Kyle. Yeah. Uh Corby, another tough spot here. Let me ask you about the travel. So yesterday the Dodgers are in Miami. You know, we’ve talked about like, oh, we don’t really care all that much when it’s Atlanta, Miami, but going Miami all the way out to Arizona. Now that’s a journey. Now, you do get three hours back, right? You get to travel back to the future, if you will. I always love that idea of going east coast to west coast. But does this long travel affect this game for you at all? I would think more people would be flocking to the Dodgers, but I’m not hearing a bunch about the Dodgers. What do you think in this spot? Yeah, actually counter opposite. Um, somebody while we’ve been on the show has absolutely nuked the Diamondbacks. Uh, this was – 161 for the graphic. Uh, Pinnacle right now is minus 135. So, somebody crushed the Diamondbacks. I maybe it’s a little bit of this like travel situation. I I just still like I don’t know. I’m not the biggest travel um connoisseur. I think about this a million times. I mean, they’re not flying Frontier. Uh, they’ll be okay. Also, they fly they fly every single day for like they are basically built to fly. Uh and then and then from a third standpoint, like I I would love to see the data on this, but I’m not sure how many like in these weird travel situations, how many pitchers are at the stadium for the game prior? Like was was Yamamoto in Miami yesterday? It would not have surprised me if he flew I mean I mean he could leave early. He doesn’t have to be at the game. Um and that’s really the main the main premise of this bet. Like yes, the bats might be bad, but like um I I would say that a pitcher is one of the most important parts of a team pretty pretty handily there. So I don’t worry about the travel. Um I think this probably moved a bit too much. 135 seems kind of crazy, but I agree with baseball. This Listen, if I don’t back the Diamondbacks, they know how to score. This is a team that has all the pieces possible. Um they hit into every double play possible. I I mean, we talked about how good their eye is. I talked about the Phillies and the Diamondbacks being the two teams. Uh, I mean, Singa had five walks in the first three innings yesterday. Like, this offense’s eye is is top-notch. I don’t think they should be discredited at all. Uh, but at the end of the day, it is the Dodgers. I would lean towards the Dodgers. Didn’t bet this. Just be aware like this number got nuked. Yeah, it it got nuked. I lean Dodgers here as well. For purposes of the show, we don’t have anything official, but keep an eye on the Corbin Carroll hits as base winner pointed out. Um, if you’re looking at like a batter versus pitcher type stuff, there’s not a ton of that, but Michael Conforto is one of the guys today in uh, let me let me pull it back up. Excuse me. In seven career at bats, he does have two home runs and a single. So, he’s three of seven. And again, it’s a very small sample size, but that righty versus lefty, he’s kind of do one of those do guys as well. So, if you’re looking to have a little fun with that, maybe that [Music] Heat.
