Round 2, Game 2 | Mark Stone Postgame: The Need To Put Best Foot Forward After Tonight

want a comeback like that and then fall in the end. You know, what’s the emotions at the end of that one? Yeah, I thought we played a good game. Um, overall I thought we controlled a lot of the play. Had a lot of good chances to finish the game. Um, you know, just there they made one more play. You go through that sequence of course with Nick and the penalty. What do you think was sort of the key to not only just getting by, but being as strong as you were during that stretch? Yeah, we had a great kill. Uh, you know, I didn’t really give up much. We got some saves when we needed. Um, yeah, it’s unfortunate. We got to get that fiveminute major kill and um, yeah, just can’t get uh, uh, can’t get the next one. The hit on McNav, did you guys think that was a penalty and did you say something to the refs afterwards? Yeah, I mean, pretty clear it’s a penalty. Um, his sticks between McNav’s legs, he sends him head first into the boards. Um, pretty clear-cut penalty uh, in my eyes and I think everybody’s eyes, right? Um but uh it’s uh it’s hockey. You don’t always get the calls, but it’s unfortunate now we might be down on a D man. We’ll see tomorrow. But um yeah, it’s just a dirty play and yeah, we don’t get the call. I mean, last time you guys were down two nothing in a series. I mean, you came back, you were part of that team. Like what do you sort of draw from that or can you really draw from it? Because it’s a different team, different experience sort of thing. Yeah, I mean we I liked our game today. We had a lot of good chances. We put up four four goals. Usually when you score four goals, you’re going to win win a playoff game. Uh unfortunately that we didn’t. But uh can’t get down. You got to go to Edmonton tomorrow, get ready for for Saturday night’s game and put your best foot forward and get a win. You guys did a pretty good job on dry side daily. Is it just one of those things where you just, you know, at some point you just have to continue to be tough on them regardless of the situation. Yeah, we did a good job. Obviously, they make the play in overtime, but um not overall. Uh limited their chances. Obviously, the penalty kill was was great against them. Um, we killed five straight minutes off in overtime to uh to give ourselves a chance. Um, but yeah, we uh got to be ready for Saturday uh to take over. Did Kane skating by Yappic after the goal fire you guys up at all? No, it’s just him. The the kill. You guys were obviously good on the five-minute kill, but you guys were all over him prior to that. Did it feel like that kind of took some of the wind out of your sales? Well, it took us took a lot of energy to kill the penalty. Um, but we got it done. We got a lot of momentum. Um, you know, they made a play. It’s unfortunate. Um, you know, it’s, uh, we had a lot of good looks. Uh, we could have easily won that game. We should have won that game. Uh, thought we played, uh, a good game. Uh, good enough to win, but, uh, we didn’t. So, uh, we’re in an O2 hole. Uh, going to Edmonton. Uh, it’s a long road, but uh, starts with starts with one. Entering a game like this. I mean, last one for March. What was sort of the conversation around urgency, or was there really one because everyone kind of just understood? Yeah, I mean we were pretty pretty urgent. We came out good again. I thought we followed it in. I actually thought we playing a pretty good second period and then we gave up three goals. Bang, bang, bang. Right. Um but overall, uh take the good uh look at the bad and be ready. Like I said, we got to win a game on Saturday night.

  1. "Dirty" play..? Is he stupid? It was an unfortunate tripping during a battle, 2 minutes sure but nothing dirty about it.

  2. Vegas doesnโ€™t stand a chance at another cup until they take some accountability. Starts with the coach – Brucey blames everyone other than himself and his team.

  3. It was a penalty but the refs missed a tonne of penalties. Thats playoff hockey. The standard they set was they were only calling it if it was intentional. Tough loss for Vegas but thatโ€™s the playoffs.

  4. Honestly Drai and Mcdavid just looked off tonight. Iโ€™m sure the Knights had a bit to do with that, but just bobbling the puck for the most part. They usually respond from games like that extremely well, Knights are pretty well cooked now ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Edmonton just wants it more they didn't like loosing I. Finals last year's. Getting more depth scoring and everyone is back checking more so over last year. There specialty play could use some work

  6. This thumbnail gives off the vibe that Mark Stone passed away and thatโ€™s a tombstone on the left-hand side. The text being centered also resembles a tombstone. This has to have been on purpose and kind of funny.
