Round 2, Game 4 | Jack Eichel Postgame: We Know We Need To Be Better & Now Look Ahead To Game 5
Is there a biggest area that you pinpoint that you feel was lacking? Um, urgency probably. I mean, I just I think that they uh they came out in the first obviously had a hard push and um you know I give us credit. I thought we stood up to them and um you know a lot of credit to Kee and Hagar and uh you know I mean it was uh you get behind and um you know we obviously weren’t able to solve the goalender so um we just got to be cleaner on our breakouts and um just better execution. I think it’s uh yeah I mean it’s do or die now. Riley mentioned that maybe the timing and the of the for check it was just tough to get the puck back. What do you think was the biggest issue on that? Uh, well, their goalie touched a lot of pucks on the breakout, right? So, um, yeah, I think we’re good when we’re for checking as a fiveman unit and everyone’s up the ice. We were probably a little bit passive at times and allowed them to break the puck out a little too easily. So, uh, the sustain pressure in their end wasn’t as good as it should be and, um, that’s something that, uh, we need to correct. Was there anything defensively that you thought they were better at today than maybe the first couple games? desperation. Obviously, they blocked a lot of shots and um you know, I don’t think we got to the inside enough. So, uh yeah, obviously the power play wasn’t a factor. We we need to be better on that and um yeah, it’s uh yeah, I mean I think we know we need to be better, right? So, um you look towards game five and what we can do to change things and and win a hockey game. It it sounds like between you and Riley, it sounds like a lot of these things are still correctable. Is that still some sort of positive that you can draw on even though do or die? Well, I mean, I think we did some good things in in two and three, right? So, I thought that was closer to the game that we want to play. Um, tonight I think we got a little too spread out transition. I don’t know if we supported the puck well enough and and um you know I think that just allowed them to break the puck out easily and we were probably a little bit passive and and didn’t uh you know put them on their heels enough. So um I think it’s just we need to be more aggressive offensively and and try and uh you know force them to make mistakes on their breakout and and get pucks back and then make plays when we have opportunities and uh get pucks to the net. So, um yeah, it’s it’s got to be better and um we’ll look towards game five and what we did tonight and and uh what we can be better and um that’s sort of it. I mean, uh you just go home and you’re at home game five, you win a game and go from there. That’s it’s really all that matters at this point. In terms of being passive, is that their speed kind of making you hesitant to go up the ice? Well, listen, I mean, you obviously want to get over their guys when they’re transitioning the puck and try and take some of their speed away. Um, they have a good rush game and um, you know, part of it is Yeah, I mean, you want to get you want to get above some of their speed and um, but at the same time, I don’t think that that should be uh, you know, holding us back. I think when we’re up and uh, it’s a fiveman unit for checking and getting pucks back in in their end, um, I think it’s effective. So, uh, you know, I think just collectively as a group, it it needs to be better and and just cleaner, um, and more urgency.

Something is up with Jack
Obviously players have to say it’s not over, but this series was over after game 2
Series over
"Blah blah blah im trash and washed". Is all I heard. He needs Marchessault to look decent
Both teams failed on the power-play. Oilers couldn't get a shot at an empty net for nearly 4 minutes. If the Oilers want to finish Vegas off in Vegas, they have to improve. It's not over yet.
Nothing but Oiler fans commenting here. Vegas fans have already given up on the Goon Knights
JE…a solid number 2. 🤣🤣🤣
