Houston Astros vs Texas Rangers Predictions Today | Friday Top MLB Picks Today 5/16/25

Big baseball card for Friday night, May the 16th. Mostly Inner League games. 11 Inner League games. We do have two NL2 American League. I’m going to give you one of those AL games tonight for Friday free. Astros Rangers Friday night free play coming up right here, right now. So, we’re seeing baseball well, seeing this series well. We’ll continue with the rematch tonight on Friday in Texas. And let’s get right to it. I think this will be a low-scoring game once again as these are two teams that are not in good current form offensively. They had just five and three hits, just one total run as I mentioned last night. That total, by the way, was 7 and a half opener. It was seven when I did the video. That’s why I like the team total under three and a half. It closed as low as six and a half in some sports books, but now we get a little bit of value tonight as this total has actually been bumped higher to eight. Doesn’t make much sense to me. In fact, it opened as high as eight and a half. Early money quickly came in on the under. The sharp money now has it 8 under 15. And I agree with that move to the under. I think both offenses are cooling off and both pitchers should have a good outing tonight. Aldi, Nathan Evaldi has been excellent this season. 1.8 RA, 60 strikeouts and five walks. One of the best pitchers in baseball this year. Now, the reason the total is higher is because Lance McCull’s Jr. has not looked good this season in his two starts. In fact, he got shelled in his last outing. But keep in mind, he’s only had two starts. So, yeah, the 15.80 RA is scary, but he did have three scoreless innings in his first start the week before in early May. And then last week, he got lit up in Cincinnati. So, one bad outing, one decent outing. If you want to take Houston and McCulla’s out of the equation, we could once again look at a team total under for the Astros. I would not disagree with that as once again Evaldi has been fantastic this season. Uh team total by the way for Houston is once again around three and a half just like it was last night when they got shut out. Um so either under eight or Astros under three and a half. Either way I look for a low-scoring game once again tonight in Texas. That’s at 8:00 Eastern on Friday. Now these free plays missed the cut. These are games I’m looking at. I treat them as maybe one or two% opinions. Gave you that team total last night in the Astros under.
