  1. No doubt about it, Tyler Engstrand's performance this year will be the Top Metric determining the fate of the Jets going forward. Probably even more critical thM Wilkes. Also the dynamic between Engstrand and AG should give us some insight into how things are progressing.

  2. Given Tanner's experience coaching offense, I'm cautiously optimistic. He does have play calling experience, albeit not in the NFL. At the least calling plays, directing an entire offense is something he's done before. That's reason enough to be optimistic.

  3. The reality is, Tanner has nothing but bare bones to work with.
He inherits a putrid 19 pt per game offense.
Fields to date is a suspect bottom tier QB will terrible passing stats, the 0 line today has much investment & fanfare but few results, a WR room featuring one single sole legitimate weapon, a TE room consisting of one rookie and a bunch of randoms, and a RB room that has a feature back who never even rushed for 1k a season his entire career.
I honestly have absolutely no idea how the Jets, with this questionable offensive roster, plans to score points consistently. 🤔 🤷

  4. Judging by his background, he's a guy that wants to run the ball often, values play action, values the TE position, and as the former red zone play designer for the Lions, I expect him to improve the red zone offense from one of the worse to at least league average. It's worth noting that Johnson and Harbaugh both value being able to threaten both run and pass equally from any formation and running the same play in different alignments. I would expect more runs out of 11 personnel and more passing in 21 and 22 personnel than previous years.
