Right now, everything is clicking for the Yankees. Unfortunately, it’s May

  1. A win counts as much in May as it does in September. Gotta bank em while you’re hot.

  2. I’d say it’s actually fortunate. Stack the wins now for when the eventual lull comes

  3. We need to stack up as many as we can now before the annual July/August meltdown

  4. Wins all count the same. Yankees are a good team, we don’t need to doom every day

  5. “Unfortunately for everyone else, it’s only may and we have injured players”

  6. You’re allowed to enjoy watching good baseball.

    Worry about October in October.

  7. Can’t win the pennant in May but you sure as fuck can lose it

  8. A huge thing going for the Yankees is that the American League cannot hit the ball

  9. Undoubtedly we’ll cool down, but the team is built better this year to avoid being the worst team in the league in July/August. The lineup is so much deeper. We’ve seen it already, as Rice has cooled down, Belli heated up. I’m sure by the time Belli or Grisham cool down, Wells will heat up and so on.

  10. You can’t win the World Series in May.

    But you can lose it.

And we sure as hell haven’t done that.

  11. This is insane and a great example of why people hate Yankees fans. Just enjoy watching good baseball.

  12. Also, this lineup truly is deeper than I recall in the last few years. Rice, Goldschmidt, Bellinger, Dominguez, Judge? Wells, Volpe, and Chisholm aren’t amazing (so far) at the plate, but league average bats are fine for a few spots with the defense they provide.

  13. Did a child write this? The article is terrible whether it’s purpose was for real or humor

  14. would’ve loved some analysis on the summer collapse last year and what caused it but i guess they couldn’t be bothered to write something useful

  15. If you think our bats are suddenly go cold in the Mecca of hitting, you’re crazy

  16. I don’t get it, are you trying to impersonate Sterling? Your writing needs a lot of work. Mods should delete this shameless self-advertising.

FWIW, I also have a Substack. I don’t post my shit here because I, like you, am not a real journalist

  17. Wins always matter no matter the time of year. I’m old enough to remember the Yankees absolutely cratering in September 2000 but holding on to win the East then getting hot and winning the WS, beating two very good teams (and the mets) along the way. Conversely I remember the 07 Rockies who steamrolled their way into the playoffs with a hot September (and a little help from a bad call at home plate) who eventually ran out of gas at the wrong time.

  18. Only Yankees fans could make being one of the best teams in baseball 2 months into the season a bad thing

Also, something that stuck out to me in that embarrassing mess of dooming…

    > Last year, between May 12 and May 25, they went 11-2. They absolutely killed the month, then collapsed in June.

    >Just sayin…

They rebounded from that stretch to finish first in the American League and make the World Series.

    Just sayin…

  19. Unfortunately lol? It’s actually good for the team to be playing well at any point in the season

  20. This team feels different. Seems like we’ve had more comeback/ gritty wins this season than we have had in the last 3 or 4 years combined. Knock on wood!

  21. To be fair, every champion has done well during the season too. You have to get there to have a shot. Enjoy the ride – it’s a long season.

  22. Anthony Rizzo used to say that you can’t win the season in April/May but you can certainly lose it
