  1. I kinda wish the tush push had been banned. The NFL is an entertainment product, so I think the fact that it's annoying and not fun is a good enough reason to ban it.

I'm glad reseeding didn't happen. I believe the importance of divisions shouldn't be devalued, no matter how small you may think that devaluing is. We had the ability to beat the Lions and failed, that's on us. And we shouldn't want to change the rules in reaction.

  2. The issue with the tush push is the fact that its designed as an illegal play if done by the defense. Its one thing if it was just you can defend against it but it is against the rules for the defense to do the exact same thing.

  3. Matthew – what you're forgetting about that McCarthy play in college that you're talking about –
    1) He was lit up on that throw
    2) The player delivering the punishment was Dallas Turner
    3) The throw was perfectly delivered

  4. I really like a lot of your takes, but your take on the Tush Push is just terrible. The difference is it’s not really a play. It’s just everyone pushing to get Hurts across the line. The difference between the whole Culpepper and a Moss pass is it’s a play, it requires your QB to drop back, make a read and your WR to get off the line VS whatever coverage he might face a still make a play. That’s called skill, there isn’t any required for the Tush Push.

Now you might say “other teams have failed,” sure but they also don’t practice it 24/7 nor do it every game like the Eagles. It’s really actually lame and not even fun to watch.

  5. I wonder if part of the reason they didn't get it through was the fact that it would be hard to word it in a way that would limit the impact to the one play. They probably didn't want to eliminate the ability to push completely and there were 2 or 3 coaches, like vrabel and Harbaugh, that were looking for loopholes while it was still being discussed.
