I wholeheartedly agree, every franchise has QB coaches that get paid to mentor them, you can't expect the vets to always take the younger players under their wing if that leads to them losing out on starting and less pay.
NFL players know that this is their job, same as every other workplace. Nobody in regular jobs wants to train up their replacement, why expect NFL players to do the same, especially if they still want to play as Flacco intends.
Ocho and Unc agree with Flacco "I'm not a mentor"

I liked how Joe put it more, but I agree with Chad. You have coaches, they should be doing the coaching. You can be a good teammate and a part of a healthy position room without being expected to prep a guy to take your spot.
I think players used like Josh McCown in many of his stops is a better way of doing things. He was brought in to be QB2, and to help the young guy above him, not to compete for starts with the guy while being a second position coach for him.
You can lead by example and hold people accountable to set a tone. That should really be enough you don’t have to directly mentor rookies it can happen indirectly by just being a good pro.
What Joe Flacco described is mentoring really. or 90% of mentoring.
He just tells people what he see’s and what he does and is open about it.
If you want more than that then you are a child.
